I went here to watch a movie with my friend. Little did I know I would be left annoyed, unsatisfied, and ripped OFF. I arrived 20 minutes before the MOVIE started. The lady at the counter was fine but then I ordered a pizza to have in there which was $30?!?!?! And my ticket was $18?!?!?!? Only a rich middle class white mum with 2 spoilt children could afford to go here more than once. The pizza was frozen and REHEATED. The movie was the worst thing I’ve ever watched. Undoubtedly made by underfunded animators that didn’t attend animating school. I didn’t even understand what was happening. The seat was STICKY and ripped the back of my legs off. There was a great band playing the next night (JB and the MMMMs) which I would recommend seeing but I would never voluntarily go into this movie theatre ever again.

The Regent is so true of Murwillumbah, a grand old lady with all the charm of a bygone era. A wonderful place to escape to another time and place.
There are often Soirees at the Cinema, lovely background music and good food. There is a regular chat group after the Friday night movie.
Sunday you can purchase reasonably priced Asian food. Just yum.

The Regent Cinema is a wonderfully fun and relaxing way to experience a modernised but still quaint cinema that oozes charm.
Arrive early...meet with family / friends...have a bite to eat and a drink or 2 first (inside or on the balcony)...then just soak up the atmosphere of the cinema that's lost in most others.
The owners / managers are lovely people too...very friendly and welcoming.

What a wonderful theatre that has been preserved in a country town. Many of these old theatres are gone but this one has been restored and shows those movies you won't see in the main cinemas.
Murwillumbah is turning into one of those towns to visit for the quaint ships and coffee.

Full range of mainstream and foreign films. Special events showcasing local film makers. Fund raising movies and music for refugees. Flickerfest. Home made food and bar available as well as usual chocks, ice cream etc. Lovely balcony to sit out with a drink before movie. Relaxed, arty decor. Friends of the Regent group offering friendship, fun events and supports the cinema. Creative, flexible and responsive owners. This cinema is lived and well patronised in this community and beyond. Air conditioning coming soon. Perfect!

The Regent Cinema is a great local, old-school cinema. Comfy seats, great staff and a well stocked snack selection and bar. Tickets are cheap and they have a good mix of art-house and modern blockbusters.

Charming people running this small independent cinema. The balcony is wonderful in the early evening to meet up with friends for a chat before the movie.
