Easter Saturday morning after breakfast we went to the beach hoping for the rock pool but high tide stopped this. There also was a surf carnival on and plenty of seaweed. We did find a spot at the pool end which was perfect for my 2 young kids. We all had a fun time.

There's an easy-to-miss sign just near the surf club warning you not to swim here after heavy rains. The beach experiences high levels of faecal contamination during such times. Ergh!!!
The problem is the massive overdevelopment of the suburb, including some illegal plumbing hacks that have included toilets connected to storm water. Council continues to investigate. Don't swim here if you value your health.

Another lovely sandy beach, broad and with decent sized ocean waves for those inclined to surfing. On the mid week day we visited it wasn't so busy, so strolling along was a particular pleasure, enjoying the fine, sunny weather.
It was nice to meet some of the local reptilian inhabitants sunnying themselves on the broadwalk.

Stayed here for 1 night on our way somewhere else. Really liked the coastal feel and had no problem finding a restaurant. Not much to do other than the beach (a bit windy and cold on this visit)

If your in Terrigal you must visit this gem. Niche Home and Living in Church Street.
Next to the police station.
What a lovely browse, with a great selection of clothing and homewares.
It is right next door to Zarlak, also a wonderful find for everything children and babies.

This is the main beach in Terrigal, a very long stretch of clear water and golden sand. It’s an ocean beach so you have rolling waves and crashing surf.
When we were there last, there was a lot of dark coloured, thick weed at the south end of the beach but its such a big beach that this is not a problem.
A wide promenade runs along the beach and makes a nice 20 minute stroll. At the southern end, it joins up with a brand new boardwalk which leads between Terrigal Beach and The Haven. If you want to extend your walk, you can continue along the boardwalk and for an even more challenging walk, keep going across the park and climb The Skillion, the oddly shaped headland and lookout point at Broken Head.
For those with small children there is an old-style ocean pool also at the southern end of the beach. It’s not a particularly attractive pool and is too shallow for most adults but it’s a safe and easy place for small children to paddle.
Back up on the main part of the beach, there are all the normal facilities - changing rooms, toilets, outdoor showers, a SLS club and lifeguards. The beach is patrolled and the iconic yellow and red safety flags are posted during the day, indicating the best and safest areas to swim.
The Surf Cafe is located on the promenade, next to the SLS building. It overlooks the beach and has a large number of outdoor tables.
There is a medium sized car park beside the beach as you enter the township of Terrigal however this can often be full. A much larger car park is available if you drive around to The Haven.

Beautiful Clean Beach! Why travel to other countries when the central coast beaches are so pristine and beautiful? Is a fantastic place to unwind and have a picnic. Small cafes and takeaways provide a good menu. There are also BBQ facilities to cook your own meat. Such a beautiful beach.

I read the previous review - obviously someone has no idea of what happens to any coastal beach when storm water run off is high. Good to see the warning signs as a public service. The long sandy stretch stops at the southern end of the beach where there is a wide well patronised walkway that leads around to the rock pool access and the boat harbour. There was market underway south of the life saving club and across the road there are numerous cafes, clothing and surf outlets.

Little know but there is local council signs that state to check a website to see if the water quality is safe to swim..what the he'll is the local members of council doing....
