We had a very interesting visit to the Museum, it's not large but packed with lots of great history of Yamba, Maclean and the area. I did find out about HMAS Waree which ran aground in 1946. Being an ex Sailor I did not know this and it the most interesting thing I learnt about.

Great history of Yamba a must see when visiting to see where it all started. Great volunteer organization.

It was great to find this volunteer-run museum on a recent visit to Yamba and I found the visit well worthwhile. I learned a lot about the history of the area and in particular the fishing and timber industries. The exhibition rooms are well set up, exhibits are well explained and there is plenty to look at.

Excellent little museum with interesting exhibits and very well presented . Friendly staff and $5 entry fee for one adult and a teenager

This small local museum is full of history and supported by a team of enthusiastic volunteers. I enjoyed our short visit, not just for the exhibition, but also for the lovely native gardens outside which were in full bloom when we visited. Strongly recommend including in a visit to Yamba.

This place does present the Yamba history on the Clarence River over many years to the present day. Well worth an hour.

Forget reading all the tourist brochures and flyers come here first.Then u will really appreciate the Yamba in which you holiday. So much history info and great staff to answer any questions.Just pay the entrance fee to keep this icon going and stop whinging it aint free.

Really was expecting a little more after paying the entry fee. I wish I saved my money and bought an ice cream. Maybe use google from the comfort of your home and be done with it

We planned on spending an hour or so but ended up staying the whole morning... so much information about the local area... and arranged so you can skim for an overview or delve into the details if you want to. Fabulous!
