So glad we stopped in and got to see the old station and learn more about the rail history of Yass and the region. The volunteers do a great job and are really friendly and the large model train set up is very good. Hats off to all those who have worked and continue to work to restore and preserve the engines and carriages and keep the rail heritage alive.

This is a small museum not on the scale of the one at Cowra. It is certainly in better shape than the one in Cowra which is in a state of neglect. Those that love their railway history should visit both.Pity it is only open on a Sunday.

This is only a small museum but has a good collection of artefacts and history of the area. The steam loco is good see being preserved. The volunteers are very helpful. Well worth the time to look at the display.

Great to visit the Old Yass Town Railway Station. Volunteers were very helpful and informative. Model railway display was enjoyed by children visiting.

Small museum that focuses on a certain time in rail history. A small range of engines and carriages. Could do with a better mix of engines and carriages through the ages. But i guess thus would come down to $$$ and patrons whuch would help the cause.

A very interesting museum with several old trains on display.It is an original station with ladie's lounge and eating area plus platform and seats.. Old railway memorabilia is on display and also a huge model train set that the volunteer kindly operated for us.Great

We were passing through Yass and decided to drop by here to have a sticky beak, but it was locked up tight.
There's a small sign which stated that it was only open on Sunday's or via appointment and there was an entry fee.
We took a couple of photos through the gate and then headed on our way.

The museum has a small range of rolling stock and a couple of locomotives. Their limited membership is doing their best and it's worth a visit if only to encourage them. There were some memories brought back to someone who must admit to being a railway nut.

Locked up tight on a Sunday and not much could be seen from the car park. With Volunteers I understand that is is difficult to ensure people on deck/ on station but disappointing when not able to access.

Even if you are not a train buff, this is well worth a visit from a historical point of view and just a chance to meet some of the locals.
