Little slice of peace

It's a beautiful park with a large lake that conveniently accommodates many nature lovers' desires. Fishing, boating, kayaking, paddleboarding, sunbathing, picnicking, swimming... Shaded area with grills, sandy beach, secluded fishing spots, large area to take a motorboat on or put your oar skills to the test. Make sure you pick the right area for the activity of your choice and go for it. It was 100% worth the 1.5-hour drive, and we'll be back. You have to check it out!

Nice Lake to walk around peacefully

This very large lake is great to walk around peacefully. We were there on a Tuesday and had the Trinity Gorge trail to ourselves. Too bad the train l name is a it of a misnomer...- no gorge

Live just a mile or two from the park. Its a very nice lake with sand beach. Pavilions and many tree shaded picnic tables all with grills.BUT do not go there on labor day/the fourth/Memorial day up to two weeks after.. Its only 20 miles from Allentown and the city people come up the turnpike and ruin it three times a year. Park service closes the lake year after year after the summer holidays due to high fecal content of the water..no lie. So plan a visit around those dates👍

Charge to enter and use park.Residents free,out of state charge a fee.Also charge a fine for garbage or personables left behind.Limit amount of pets and humans.Have rules on bathing and restroom usage in English and Spanish.Provide more portable restrooms.If rules are not followed immediate suspension from park as well as rest of season.

Over crowded.

Took my daughter to the beach. She was digging up diapers in the sand. Place was over full. People leaving their garbage laying around. Parking was a nightmare. And you have to leave way early to get in because they will close without warning.

great park

Beach was nice for the kids. No waves, water shallow and warm, bathrooms nearby. There was plenty of space for changing in the bathrooms, however, the space was open.
Big field to play soccer or volleyball. Plenty of picnic tables. Just gotta bring your own grill.
Big parking lot.

Carbon County, Harrity Covered Bridge

State Park with picnic areas, beautiful lake for boating and swimming. We traveled here to view Harrity Covered Bridge, once over Pohopoco Creek, 66 feet and built in 1841. It's a good example of a multi-kingpost truss design.

Nice trail.

The trails were well marked. Waterfall was nice. Took us 1.5 hrs to do. Stopped by the waterfall for pictures

Nice beach, hiking, kayaking opportunities. Would definitely go again. Didn't get to spend too much time there before it rained and the park rangers asked all to leave.

Nice outing for a few hours

With only a limited time here I can see how this is an attractive place for an outing. We (family) set up chairs under large trees and enjoyed watching the scene/people on the lake and beach. There is plenty of parking. I only wish the bathrooms were situated closer to the main parking area. Otherwise it was easy to find and there is plenty of areas to set up your own picnic area. Suggest going on a weekday to avoid crowds.
