My whole family used to go on Friday night qualifying, Saturday ARCA race and cup race on Sunday morning in the infield. We haven’t been back since they did away with the single day infield on Sunday. I just recently visited their customer service and ticket booth and they were super CRUSTY to say the least. I asked them if there was single day infield passes basically so I can explain to my friends and family that they don’t accommodate locals anymore for the infield you have to reserve a camping spot. If I live 6 miles away why would I camp there? Also my 2 acres turns into a campground On Pocono race weekend. Well RIP POCONO RACEWAY and maybe you should get better customer service that might want to offer alternatives to locals that take time to go there to inquire about going to the race. I’m thinking I usually have 20-30 people in our group and most of them have been going to the infield since they were kids and now want to bring their kids, not happening due to having to reserve a camping spot to see a Nascar race…. Go figure, POCONO RACEWAY IS NOT A LOCAL FRIENDLY TRACK it’s a CAMPGROUND!!!!
So let’s see on average how much more $$ they aren’t going to make from repeat customers for 20+years
20-30x 100$ (ticket + spending $) = 2-3k but I’m sure the campsites will sell out
Tourist Campers win and local nascar fans lose !!
Ps. maybe nascar will do away with POCONO raceway all together they shortened the race and your down to one weekend for tourist ONLY

Not a NASCAR fan, but a fun day at the track. Took my & year old and we had a blast. Sat in the Terrace Club and even up high, it's tough to see.
PROS: lots of activities for kids, pre and during the race, didnt seem huge (but it is), NASCAR is powerful, loud and awesome live
CONS: no real access to replays and sound system was sub-par... food and bev options were like those found at a town fair... mickey mouse operation for concessions.

The June 2021 Sunday Cup Series race was my first trip to Pocono Raceway. I have also been to Dover, New Hampshire, Watkins Glen, Darlington, Daytona, Martinsville, Richmond, Indianapolis, Bristol, and Charlotte so I have a very good scale of comparison at this point for cup series races.
Seating location - Terrace Club, Section 336, Row A, seat 23. I have absolutely nothing bad at all to say about this seat. If I were to go to Pocono again, I would sit in the same location. The Terrace Club seat was the first in the row, it was shaded for most of the race, there were no obstructions, and it provided an incredible view of pit entry and turn 3. The Terrace Club Seat came with a pre race pit road and track walk pass, not a hot pass, cold pass, or garage pass. You were able to walk on pit road or the track at your leisure. The seat also came with free food, beer, soda, and water for the duration of the race. The beer was served from 1p-5p and it was limited to bud light. The food just kept coming. It was served buffet style behind our seats. It ranged from hot dogs, to pulled pork and rice, to cookies. It was excellent.
View of the racetrack - You could see the entire track with the exception of a small section of the long pond straight from this seating location, but just like any other large track that I've been to it was impossible to make the cars out when they were in turn one, all down the long pond stretch, in turn 2, and coming to turn 3.
Parking and Traffic - I arrived in the area of the track around 915a, about 2 hours before introduction for xfinity drivers. I drove right into the track and parked. It was about a 10 minute max time in traffic. Parking location was good. There was a small amount of walking but it honestly wasn't terrible in my opinion. I stayed until the checked flag and then started walking out. I walked at a relatively fast pace for me. I was out of the track and on the road in about 10 minutes tops also. If I had not hightailed it after the checkered I think it would have been much worse. My one critique is that there was a parking attendant that was trying to hand wave traffic. That was not working. You could not see her or who she was waving on. Just let the traffic sort itself as it is exiting the parking area onto the exit roadway.
My opinion of the Pocono Experience - Pocono is a clean track with beautiful scenery. I made a one day trip of it. I drove three hours each way before and after the race and the lack of not sitting in nearly any race traffic was a big bonus. The seat location and the amenities were fantastic. I, for one, love to be able to follow any race I go to intimately. The track was so big I could not do that or change my focus to a battle going on anywhere on the track. I did see a great race, but I needed to keep changing my scanner to the MRN broadcast to follow all of the action rather than staying on the channel of the drivers I loved to listen to. I do recommend Pocono for its uniqueness and awesome hospitality, but I prefer to attend a short track like Martinsville, Bristol, Richmond, Dover, etc.

Went here with my lady for the Chinese lantern festival. Very spacious setting ofcourse due to the event happening in the field adjacent to the raceway. Great times, good food and a nice view!

Went with my adult son to the IndyCar race. Camped in the infield. Racing was intense, the track is awesome, and the facility is very accommodating. the showers and toilet facilities for the camping area were clean and adequate.

Pocono Raceway is an older, storied racetrack. There are two sectio s that can be joined for extending the racetrack. The seam where the infield merges onto the outer banking is a slight bump, but with time and experience, it won't upset you or your motorcycle (as much). Go and have fun, you won't regret it!

My dad and I went to the Pocono Raceway for the first time to see their inaugural airshow. The show was well done and we would return as far as that goes. We got there early and left late so at least for us the parking was not an issue (parking charge was $10).
The bad was not being able to bring in at least one unopened bottle of water and instead having to buy $4 bottles throughout the day to stay hydrated. Along with the water the food was the typically overpriced variety of hot dogs, fries, etc.
Also, my dad tried to bring in an umbrella that he uses as sort of a cane to lean on since he is up there in age. We checked before and there was nothing listed about umbrellas in the "prohibited items" section of the website. He was denied by a rude "security" guy who either made up the 'no umbrellas' rule on his own or the Raceway people decided to make it a rule without telling anyone. When my dad tried to explain to the security guy that he used it like a cane the guy simply said "well get a real cane then". So I had to bring the umbrella back to the car.
FYI: If you email them a question, don't necessarily expect an answer.
We would give the Raceway and the airshow one more chance next year and see how it goes. At this point we will not go out of our way to "tell your friends and spread the word about our airshow!" like they kept begging us to do".
Airshow = Excellent
Raceway procedures = Needs Improvement

Our first experience at a race! We went early and went to pit road. ABC Supply was sponsoring the race and had food and drinks in Chalet Village for their employees and their guests. The food was pretty good. Appreciated lots of cold drinks on a hot day! Only issue I had was entering the gate. I had a backpack and was opening it up to security when it was announced. "No glass or aerosol cans." I had a can of spray sunscreen and had to throw it out. No big deal, but this is not listed as prohibited on the website. Others in the same party also had spray aerosol cans of sunscreen and were permitted to take theirs inside.

Are there any public beaches near by to swim at? I’ve been researching but can’t find anything.

If you'll settle for water without the beach there are two pretty cool water parks less than 30 minutes away ... Kalahari and Camelbeach at Camelback Mountain.

The Guest Services tent located at Gate # 8 before you enter the Pedestrian Tunnel to go to the Paddock and Pit area is a monitored area you can leave your cooler while in the Pits.
Is there any air conditioning?
Do you recommend seat cushion?
Any suggestions for first timers?

300 level ($150) is shaded, but no AC, seat cushion completely optional (I did not felt like needing it). Suggestion would be to seat in 300 level (if able to afford)... 100 and 200 levels do not get any shade thru all day

We have never had a problem with small soft sided cooler but if you are concerned contact the track and ask them...they are good at replying to email questions

how do the seat numbers run in the rows. How many seats to a row.

I don't recall the seat number sequence. Suggest you contact raceway staff, they are quite friendly. Just check website for contact information.
IMHO the upper rows have a better view than those close to the track.
