We were staying at Harborside and used the taxi to cross the harbor & go to Charleston. So much more pleasant than driving!!! Boat & captain/first mate were knowledgeable and friendly. Felt safe. I'd recommend these folks in a skinny minute!

I have used the taxi service a number of times. The boat is amazing, stable and easy to board. Even someone with a wheelchair could come aboard. The captains are all very friendly and always take the time to give out a few facts about the harbor area.

We have been to Charleston before. We used the Water Taxi extensively. It is very enjoyable and handy to get to downtown and all the major points of interest. The best value in Charleston. However I guess on a weekday in December it does not run. We had to fight bad roads, poor streets and limited parking in our car. This took the shine off the entire visit.

We enjoyed traveling on the water taxi. $12 each for and all day pass. Best deal ever! Four stops including Charleston Harbor Marina, Patriots Point, waterfront park, and the aquarium.

We left from Mt. Pleasant and ended up at the aquarium ! Toured the aquarium and market and then road back to our car in Mt. Pleasant This was last year in June.

Staying nearby Patriots Point, we decided to use water taxi to visit downtown Charleston.
The route is well marked until you end up at the resort looking for parking and PU point. So park by the fish house across from the resort and walk behind the fish house then hop on at Harbor marina resort stop.
Or if you visit the naval museum you can hop on by going at the end of the pier USS Yorktown to Waterfront park market street/Aquarium Charleston the other stop.
You can ride all day long for $12 pp. available every 45 minutes. Even if you buy your ticket online they will still issue paper one. Due to COVID-19 the hours have changed and last ride from either direction is around 5:00 and if you’re in luck you’ll see dolphin.

yes about 15 mins depending on how many stops, and people.
Is also weather dependent as well...

If you get on at Patriot's Point, it's about 15 minutes to the Marina Hotel stop; then about 30 minutes from there to Waterfront Park in Charleston. You embark at 15 minutes before the hour and arrive at about 30 minutes past the hour. On the return, you embark at Waterfront Park and 15 minutes past the hour. The first stop in the Aquarium (about 15 minutes), then you arrive back at Patriot's Point just about on the hour. In my experience, the taxi is usually running on time, but sometimes up to 5 minutes late. Hope this helps.

Where do you go in Point Pleasant to board the water taxi to Charleston. Also someone mentioned it was free to park in Pt. Pleasant to catch the ferry where is that?

You can park at the Patriot's Point parking area for a charge of $5 and take the taxi from there (I'm not sure how you say you are only there to board the taxi and not visit Patriot's Point site-I guess ask at the booth where the take the $5), or you can pass that and drive over to the Charleston Fish House lot and park there for free. If you park in the hotel lot, you may get a notice that it is for customers only (although there was no sign stating that when we visited earlier this month a note was placed on our car). The entry to the water taxi is a bit hard to find. No good clear sign. It is in between the hotel(getting some renovations in front) and a new hotel being built. Walk between those buildings and you'll see the long walkway out to the dock and a tiny sign saying Water Taxi.
