Pier was located right next to our hotel. Took a walk, our walk was nice and relaxing. I'm not sure what the parking situation is for the pier, but it could be a challenge.

nice view, 3 bucks each to walk on but it was well spent. we walked there from the beach, I don't know what they charge for parking.

Pier was so clean and better made and extended further than others in the area. The pier offered beautiful views!

This is a beautiful pier! Wlvery relaxing. Beautiful view of ocean. Cute gift shop. Great fishing 🎣. If you have a chance to go I would highly recommend it.

Great gift shop. Pier offers fishing gear for rental. If you are staying at the DoubleTree Hotel, admission to the pier is free, otherwise it’s $3.00 per person to access the pier. If you want to fish from the pier, there is a fee. The gift shop also sells fishing gear and bait.

We took a nice off season beach visit and decided to visit the Springmaid Pier. Clean air and a great walk. A lot of fishing on the pier. $2.00 admission. Enjoy it!

A great time. Caught all kinds of fish and hooked a few sharks as well. Great time can even spend time walking the beach and watching the surfers. To walk on the pier it's $3.00 o fish is $12.00 but good for all day. Worth the trip to visit

Well cared for pier. Friendly fishermen willing to share their experiences. Staff in the entrance store are helpful.

Not a fishing person, but loved the pier. Great view. Lovely surroundings. Fishing folks were very happy.

Does the pier rent fishing poles?

I would call Double Tree and ask your question. Many years ago fishing poles could be rented for about $8.00, but not sure what the rules are now that the pier has been rebuilt. Guests at the Double Tree can walk on the pier for free, but there is a cost for non-guests.

The pier was significantly damaged by a hurricane. In the process of being rebuilt. Also the pier at the State Park is closed for repairs. Yes you would need license.

The pier was mostly destroyed by the hurricane and only a small section remains. It is supposed to be rebuilt but the owners are waiting on additional funding to make it happen.
Currently you should be able to fish off the Myrtle Beach State Park Pier which is just down the beach from Springmaid and the 2nd Ave pier should also be available.

Surfside Beach council still out on this one looking at steel at woodpiles ND concrete...the wheels will turn slowly on this one.. they want to rebuild BUT are procrastinating

Last time I was in Myrtle, the Sprinmaid pier has been demolished from a hurricane. Look for another one. The one at or Near Apache campground has entertainment. There is also a new one at Cherry Grove Beach that has a lot of entertainers and events. Check with the Myrtle Beach area websites that will have a;; that info.

When was the safety of the water ckd been seeing lots of negativity and warnings of water and we r coming end of july and staying at springmaid resorts

I checked with the front desk at our resort when we were at MB in May. They said they had been out in the water themselves, and there are signs posted if there are any issues. The main thing is not to swallow the water, so I wouldn't let real little ones go in.

You do not always need a fishing license to go fishing in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. A fishing license is not required when you fish from a pier or if you hire a charter or fish from a rental boat.
Saltwater fishing licenses are required for those 16 years old and up who want to harvest oysters and clams and for those fishing saltwater from private boats.
Recent fees for non-resident fishing licenses follow:
An annual freshwater fishing license is $35.
A 7-day freshwater fishing license is $11.
