My daughter and I met in TR for an afternoon date. She came from Asheville. I came from Atlanta so this was a great midpoint for us. Part of our trip involved cycling the Swamp Rabbit trail. Based on TripAdvisor Rex we went to Sunrift to rent our gear. We arrived at 11 and were greeting at the bike rental desk and given everything we needed- exactly as prescribed. We were on the trail enjoying our day by 11:15. Everyone was pleasant and professional.

Like the TARDIS, this place is bigger on the inside than it looks on the outside. If you need any outdoor gear, maps, books or local advice, this store is worth a trip to Travelers Rest. They have it all: cycling, hiking, camping, climbing, kayaking. Lots of reasonably priced name brand gear for almost every type of activity. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a great place for to shop for any outdoor enthusiast.

Had a wonderful experience. Rented a bike and a child trailer from these guys. the associates were very nice and helpful. I would definely rent from them again.

This shop has some great deals on Patagonia and Kavu products, which I normally buy online from REI. It’s well worth the visit and the staff is super helpful and friendly. It’s a great place to buy local trail maps and paddle guides and I bought a local folklore book while I was in there too. Any outdoor enthusiast should stop on in here.

This is a wonderful place to shop and also get bike repairs. Trustworthy employees and very helpful and friendly. They love what they do.

Rented bikes from Sunrift. Guys were so helpful and had really nice bikes & helmets for rent at $20/ea for half day. Rode about 6-7 miles just past Furman from Sunrift.
Excellent paved trail w lots of other bikers and walkers. Places to stop along the way w drinking fountains to refill water bottles. It’s not too hilly as I am not used to biking long distances. It is def downhill on the way there and more uphill on the way back. Again, I’m not experienced and I was able to do it. Be sure to stay on the right so others can pass you!
Pretty views and lots of interesting places to explore along the way or just to rest.
It was an amazing day and perfect outdoor activity. We saw families enjoying bike riding as well. Encourage this activity for all ages on days that are not too hot.

Sunrift is a fixture in Travelers Rest and the top place to go for any camping or recreating needs. I popped in recently for some nice wool socks and found a huge selection on sale for half off. My partner picked out a clever, well-made knife to take kayaking and fishing. I poured over all the independent books and local trail maps, as well as a huge selection of women's and men's outdoor and yoga attire. This place is worth the stop!
