I do appreciate an artist expressing themselves. Some sculptures were impressive,like the horse. Some whimsical like the fish. Others just gave me an unsettled feeling and I wanted to leave.

The sculptures were unique. I thought the park would be larger than it was. I was there about 30 minutes. Not really worth $10

A nice surprise along 90W. Don't let the road construction keep you from taking a few minute's detour to see this interesting walking tour. Very interesting!

This was such a gem of a find! Not only did I get to speak to Wayne (the artist) but I got to meet his sister. It was so fun seeing these sculptures come to life in the middle of tall grass and cows. They totally transport you into another world and each day gives the sculptures a new canvas as the sky changes. A must see for artists, art lovers and those who enjoy the unique!

My husband and I, along with my father and step-mother were on a road trip, headed out to Yellowstone National Park. This was an unplanned pit stop to get out of the vehicle and stretch legs. For the $10 fee, I feel it was slightly overpriced. After an unpaved drive, avoiding cattle to get to the entrance, the site contains an unpaved loop path to view the pieces. While the imagination and size of some of the pieces were a sight to behold, at times, the poems and subject matter of some of the pieces gave me an uneasy feeling. I suppose art can do that to you sometimes. After a little too many of those feelings, we rushed through the second half of the loop and returned to our vehicle. I would agree given some of the subject matter and pieces, it may not be appropriate for some audiences.

We were looking for a nearby outdoor excursion while visiting family in Sioux Falls and decided to venture out to the Porter Sculpture Park. It was an easy drive out to the park easily accessible from Highway 90 though going back to Sioux Falls was a bit trickier with road work blocking east side exits. The park has plenty of parking. There was a $10 admission fee. The park contains a number of unusual whimsical sculptures including up close views of the longhorn and horse which are visible passing by on highway 90. The trail is self guided. It is unpaved which may make it less accessible for some. Dogs on leashes were allowed. The many different installations provide great subjects for photos. Many sculptures are accompanied by poems or narrative stories. We were glad we sought it out. It was a great outdoor place to explore when looking for something to do in the Sioux Falls area.

Lot's of fun sculptures to see. Even better the artist is on site and happy to chat. Very nice guy. Happy to get a chance to see his vision.

This place is just as quirky and kitschy as everyone says. It’s right off the freeway so easy enough to get to. The owner/sculptor has a ton of stories. Enjoy!

We stopped here the last day of our South Dakota vacation. Lots of very interesting sculptures. They are all done by one artist, and he’s onsite during your visit. Stopping with the kids would be great as they can run and stretch their legs, and discover art can be fun and interesting, not all stuffy and “serious”.

We have passed that iconic buffalo/steer head on the highway several times wondering what it was and how to get to it. We figured it out. We LOVED visiting this sculpture park. Worth the $10/person admission. So unique and cool to see all of the statues up close and personal. There are a lot of them too!!! We appreciated being able to take a 30 minute break from our travels.
