I used to do horse riding lessons here. It definitely houses some of my favourite riding memories. Sergeant Swift, Babe, and Hector will always be my favourites! Donna was a fantastic instructor and taught me so much about riding and horses in general. The owners and other staff are always friendly and more than willing to answer any questions you may have. The trekking routes were beautiful to say the least and it was always nice to stand by the edge of the river on a sunny spring day.
The grounds of the house are stunning; there is always something to see. The courtyard is always bustling with activity.
I really recommend visiting this place. The horses are all well tempered and extremely friendly. It should 10/10 be on your to do list when you visit Co.Clare.

Just an FYI for those wanting to do a trek here, I phoned Ballyhannon to make horseback riding reservations and was informed they only offer lessons now.

They offer a wonderful experience with great service! They take their time to teach and preach safety. It’s an unrushed service and they go out of their way to make you feel at home.

This would be a wonderful experience for both experienced and non experienced horse people. They provide a mini lesson, a fabulous guided ride, all very laid back and no feeling of being rushed. The staff is absolutely the best. They clearly love and care for the horses. I highly recommend!

What a special memory! Ashlinn met us at Dromoland Castle, and she became our new best friend right off the bat! She took us to Ballyhannon, got us fitted for boots and hats, and matched us with the perfect horse, based on our riding experience. Riding down the country roads was so peaceful, and the trail through the woods was magical. This adventure was truly the icing on the cake for our trip to Ireland!

It was an amazing adventure; aislinn our tour guide was very helpful and friendly. The horses were well behaved and the trail was great. You should all try to make time to come here because it was awesome.

My family and I are staying Liscannor in March. Is there a way to transport horses by trailer from the Ballyhannon House to Liscannor for trekking?

Thanks for the enquiry. We charge 50 euros first hour and 25 euros an hour after that.
Price includes tea/coffee or a glass of wine in the gazebo in our walled garden before or after your ride.
We also do a horse whispering experience if that's of interest to you
