What a hidden gem of a view. Lovely leisurely walk with an amazing view. Can do long or short circular walk. Good sized car park too but no toilets!

A lovely area to just take a stroll or a good walk. Short or long walks. Great for dogs. It was a dull day but still a Spectacular view over the estuary to Exmouth. What a gem with Teignbridge Bean to end our walk. Great hot chocolate and coffee. Lovely sausage rolls and vegan rolls. Will certainly be visiting again

Really lovely forest with either a short or long loop option. Car parking is free and recently there has been a coffee stall which is ideal. Perfect for young children to run free and be safe

Great views over the Exmouth estuary. There are a number of walks ranging from easy with a wheelchair to testing. Two main walks are signed.

We are often at mamhead walking my daughters dogs.very quiet and excellent walks for everyone.the views are stunning over the estuary.there is a short walk or a longer one,which ever you prefer and both walks are signposted along the way.

This is a great place to take your dogs .it is very peaceful and the parking is great . It is a place to lose yourself . Seats around for the less able . No bikes allowed .if you are an early riser you might spot a few deer. Take care in the roads though . For 2 reasons 1 Sadly there are lots of lorries on the roads. And deer to be found crossing road. Early morning. And dusk at night .

Mamhead Woods and Viewpoint is a great walkies for all abilities of humans and hounds. Follow the brown Mamhead signs from the dual carriageway at the top of Haldon Hill to the free car park. There are good flat and well-maintained paths from the car park out to the viewpoint and around the circular walk. This walk was designed with wheelchair users in mind so also is excellent for buggies. From the viewpoint there is a fabulous view out to the coast and across the beautiful countryside of this part of Devon. It pays to visit on a clear day so you can get the most from the viewpoint. There are plenty of benches if you need a rest and two poo bins. A favourite walk of Holly Terrier and her friends.

Great place to walk with dogs and family and multiple routes to take and explore. Lots of benches and picnic tables too.

Having lived in Dawlish and many places in Devon, I visited my friend who lives near Mamhead. I have long been a fan of the lovely, varied walks there. The views are super from every angle, it feels like being on top of the world. There is plenty of parking, and frankly, it's a dogs paradise.
The longest walk can take about an hour, depending on how fast your pace is, and of course your dogs. A quicker route is around the obelisk, but the view across the Exe Estuary on a clear sunny day, is a sight to behold. Who needs to go abroad when you have such stunning views of this beautiful county. Well worth the drive and effort.
