As a family we spent time researching places to go due to one member having mobility issues and needing a mobility scooter. It was stated on several web pages that this is accessible.
When we arrived it then states partially accessible, the one family member with the mobility scooter was unable to even get to the signage to pay or to even read that this it’s only partially accessible.
It is no where near even partially accessible as I found places difficult with being mobile with a slight injury as places were uneven and slippery.
The few of us that did make it around found it a little disappointing and not worth the entrance fee.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on the gardens. We aim to provide all of our visitors with a good experience but clearly did not meet your expectations. Over the years we have taken out many steps and strived to make the garden as accessible as possible but as it is set on a hillside there are challenges with making it totally accessible. We will review the information on our web site to make sure it reflects this.
The entrance fee go towards looking after and developing the garden which is maintained by the Estate and our visitors contributions are much appreciated.
We hope you will visit again and be able to enjoy the garden to the full.

Nice walk, the fairy trail is worth a walk round! Gruffalo trail would have been even better if they had the owl, fox and snake as figures to find. Word of warning on the slide, I went down as an adult (luckily not with my niece on my knee as originally planned!!) Very fast as it was wet, came flying off the end and bruised my tailbone slamming into the stump after the mat at the bottom - way too fast for kids, maybe I just came off with such force because I'm an adult.

This was such a highlight of our holiday these woods and walk was so scenic and tranquil. The gruffalo walk was great for toddlers. Our babies were a bit to young we had to carry our prams at bits but doesn’t bother us we’re used to good walks with our dogs anyway. We all loved taking in the views plants and the magnificent trees. Well worth a visit you could be lost for hours enjoying a break from life

Ardkinglas House is the set for various movies and TV series. We learned of it that way and based on our discussions the same was true of other visitors.
We came here to see the house, but it has only very limited hours and ended up visiting the woodland garden instead. That turned out to be a very good choice.
The gardens go along the edge of a valley. It is a naturally beautiful setting, but they have also added other attractions along the way. We had an enjoyable afternoon walking along the paths and seeing some very impressive woods.
The paths seem to have been developed over time to appeal to everyone. For children, there are many sites based on the Gruffalo books. In one place there is a large slide. We were told that it appealed to adults as well, and it did, with one adult member of our party trying it twice.
One of the attractions is a poetry gazebo that has all kinds of poems about trees, a whimsical touch.
These walks have many incredibly impressive trees, including some of the tallest in the UK. One is a California Redwood that was planted decades ago and forgotten about. These trees are immensely tall, so much so that you really cannot photograph them but must just appreciate them as you look. Some of the trees are Champion Grand Firs, one of which is purportedly the tallest conifer in Europe.
There is a place at the edge of the walk where you can get a good, movie-type view of the house.
This wasn't quite what we had expected, but we enjoyed it very much.

My wife and I along with our 10 month old son had a wonderful walk around Ardkinglas, the Gruffalo trail fairly adds something for kids and the slide is a super touch. The fairy village tops it off. All in all a great family walk.

Lovely spot! We had a great time. We could see that a lot of effort and love was put into the garden. The fairy trail was the highlight. Our 1.5 year old daughter loved it. We will be back ❤️

Stopped off at the Woodland Garden on our way back home after a holiday in Argyle. Have meant to visit in the past but always got sidetracked into doing something else. :-P Very glad to have finally visited. Lovely woodland walks, and although we were a party of 4 adults, we all enjoyed the Gruffalo trail and the slide! Enjoyed our walk round the site, admired the trees, and made use of the picnic tables. All in all, an excellent place to visit. :-)

Visited twice in early July and the place is beautiful, our kids (2 & 5) loves the gruffalo and fairy trails while my wife and I took an interest in the champion trees. The views are stunning and we had a small picnic after enjoying our walk round the gardens

Fairy garden is lovely and the gruffalo trail is fab finding the gruffalo at the end. Great walk for kids not to strenuous and dogs on leads welcome. Really worth a visit bargain for £5.

This is a very pleasant walk that only takes an hour with lots of variety, trees, shrubs and a lovely fast flowing river to look down on. The highlight for me was the slide that I couldn’t resist, lots of fun and seemed perfectly safe. So much so I did it three times.
