Beautiful coastal walk and beach but rip off car parking company. We went on 1st October when the charges change to winter payment which states £1 for two hours. We paid the pound and stayed one and a half hours. I got home to a parking fine of 100 pound as I had missed the 14 days 60 pound payment. I paid the 100 pound as I did not want to accrue any further charges but when I checked we had infact paid the correct charge. I tried to appeal but because I had paid it the matter is resolved so cannot do online!! I tried to call but there is no way to get through I emailed but the automatic response states they won't discuss a parking fine. I have had to resort to pen and paper to try and lodge an appeal absolute charlatans SIP parking. BE WARNED

Beautiful dog friendly beach. One of the best on the Island. However beware of parking charges. Blue badge users are not charged on the island by the council, but this is private and they do charge blue badge holders. Received 2 fines £115 each.

A lovely beach, when the tide is out the beach seems to just go on and very safe and of dog friendly, perfect!

We visited so the dog could have a good run about then take the walk round to the next bay. It was a windy day but so glad we did it, stunning and a lovely walk.
Make sure you check tide times before you go though!! Or all you will find is a narrow shingle beach rather than the lovely sandy one.
The walk is well worth your time too, with a few stony bays along the way!

Lovely beach with lots of space to build sandcastles. Really nice cafe selling pizzas and ice cream too. Unfortunately, we won't be going back there after being issued with a car parking fine. Many other reviews have said the same thing. Beware! There is an ANPR and they will use any excuse to issue a £60 fine (£100 if over 14 days). Signage isn't clear and it sounds like it is not easy to appeal. Such a shame as it's rally ruined our holiday experience.

BEWARE OF THE ANPR CAMERAS, Bought a parking ticket for what I thought was a reasonable time but we must have stayed longer because we have received a £100 (reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days) fine from a company in Manchester. I thought that this was a normal pay and display carpark.
Beach was ok but the tide was out and it was a bit smelly.
Car park is a bit of unkempt rough wasteland. Ice cream however was delicious.

It’s a lovely beach but watch out for the car park machine and charges. I was issued with a fine and foolishly paid it before realising that I had, in fact, paid the fee; indeed If slightly overpaid because the machine was rejecting some coins. I appealed to the operator - in itself not easy - and they simply refused to entertain the appeal. Their signage isn’t clear and I felt that the whole process has been set up to catch people out. If you’re visiting you need to make sure you’ve complied in full otherwise you’ll be stung. Typical of this kind of operator. Nice place but my visit left a nasty taste in my mouth. I love Anglesey but won’t be going back to Lligwy again. Benllech and Newborough for me in future.

Car parking charges extortionate, particularly when no facilities open. Must be losing a fortune with car users choosing to go elsewhere. 👎

Been visiting this beach since I was a child.would visit my parents over Christmas and would walk my dog on Christmas day.
Now my parents are no longer around to visit.the beach is vast,clean and up until a few years ago free to park,but, as always spoilt by miles minority, so there is a charge.
Some motorhome owners hsve been ignoring the signs where they can and cannot park...
