Whilst inside the Goal building was closed due to flooding, it was free to explore outside in the grounds and walk around.
Giant draughts board in the main quad provided fun (even in the rain) for the kids.
Stunning buildings and grounds.
Will be back when the inside is re-opened.

We thought we would pop in while in the area and it was very interesting tour and a couple of hours well spent on a rainy Welsh day. The staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly and the audio guides were a excellent touch with the scanning points along the tour.

Great hour or so, recommend using an audio guide and you can go round at your own pace. The pentonville like section is really impressive. Staff very friendly, stopping to chat. Very informative.

Interesting visit. Well controlled re one way and cleaning. Would have liked some more interaction with the guides. Perhaps actors demonstrating things.

good couple of hrs of interesting history .think it was £5.00 entry but worth it.strolling around the goal ,inside you can go into the cells and also learn how life from day to day was spent ,from the work they had to do .to their punishment

Would be good for children as there is plenty for them to do but found it a bit depressing and no colour but this is as you would expect a prison to be.

Fascinating place to visit. History of the Gaol was extremely interesting. The cells are original and a bit scary.
