The staff here were so friendly and helpful. The carvery was delicious and plentiful. I am vegetarian and they freshly cooked a lasagne for me. My adult son loved the carvery and sunday roast.

Well today I decided to go for a take away carvery, so we brought our own plates and dish for gravy, the food is lovely but I didn't manage to create my own plate because whilst I was making a friends meal the owner mavis decided to make mine, not knowing I despise mash on a roast along with not putting any yorkies or roast potatoes even after I got the mash taken off she decided it was time to put tin foil over my meal with no potatoes then she decided to decide how many roast potatoes I was allowed on my plate, how very sad. This is discrimination, I'm bought up to believe although 5 star for the food I'll give half a star for it not being a carvery for myself. Thanks

We went on Thursday night and we received a very warm welcome from Mavis and Family
The food was fabulous, all fresh vegetables, homemade sauces and all cooked really nicely. We had the carvery followed by a delicious bread and butter pudding.
Lovely friendly atmosphere, we will be back.

My partner and I ate at Castle Green on two consecutive evenings in August 2021. We found Castle Green a truly delightful dining experience. The service from Mavis, Brian and all the staff was welcoming and highly personal. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food superb. Castle Green is also dog-friendly. We shall return whenever we are in Lampeter.

What an amazing find! Mavis and Bryan made us feel so welcome, it was like meeting old friends. The food was fantastic, simple tasty food that was cooked to perfection by Bryan. We are just passing through Lampeter so the only downside is that it’s a bit far from home and we can’t come and try the Sunday roast. All I can say is this if you are anywhere near Lampeter this place is a must to visit.

We went for Sunday lunch. 5 adults and 2 dogs. The owner Mavis was lovely and reserved a table for us that would be suitable for the dogs! The cavery was delicious and masses of it. You could have as many of the meats you fancied and of them were very tasty and perfectly cooked. Mavis even asked if we would like some bits for the dogs and they got a lovely pile of meat too. Really can’t recommend this place highly enough. One thing to not is that they don’t take cards so make sure you have cash!

A warm family and relaxed atmosphere, with incredible home-cooked food. We ate on Carvery night (Thursday). It did not disappoint. Meat melted in the mouth and there was a huge range of potatoes and vegetables. The children went back for seconds! Amazing deserts - the pavlova and chocolate fudge cake were a triumph. Mavis and her family could not do enough for us. Highly recommended for any visit in the area.
