Nearby parking, free guided tours included in the reasonable entry fee, you don't need to buy a guide book to enjoy this castle. If you prefer to make your own way around the castle there is plenty of information available.
The Tudor connection is interesting. There is something here for all age groups too.
There is a modern cafe with reasonable prices and super loos.
Well worth a visit .

Despite the cold and damp conditions we took the opportunity to join a free guided tour. If you go, then do the tour as you'll learn a huge amount about the history of this castle. Who'd have thought it has been at the centre of so much history especially Tudor History. Our guide was truly knowledgeable.

Well worth a visit. Was very impressed the castle is well maintained.
Very informative as you walk around . We missed the guided tour but the guide book was great .
It’s dog friendly which is a bonus for us .

Last minute trip to Pembroke Castle today. First ever visit here and is was so good. Beautiful grounds and a well maintained castle. So much history and more or less everywhere is open to visitors. Affordable entry.

We visited the castle on Friday 24th February and our young woman guide treated us to the best, most entertaining and informative tour I think I have ever experienced in over fifty years of visiting historic buildings. It's indicative that the entire tour party, of all ages, was captivated throughout, despite a keen wind and drizzly rain. Thank you so much - we learnt such a lot about your wonderful castle and so many of the people who have made it famous.

Absolutely awesome trip - even the very cold weather didn’t daunt us, such was the amazing story telling from Howard our guide on one of the free guided tours of the castle. We learnt more about British history than most of our time at school! But in a very engaging and authentic way from a guide who truly loved his job.
We also had the pleasure of sampling the food and service at the castle cafe - outstanding on both counts.

We had the most amazing animated history lesson from Howard. What an extraordinary guide oozing passion! Leave yourself time for self exploration after the guide in the many towers and labyrinth of corridors and rooms. Finally fabulous food and coffee at the cafe. All the staff we met from the reception to the cafe were extremely helpful and friendly. We’ll done! Highly recommended!

Although I have visited the castle a number of times in the past, it has not been possible to have one with a guide.
This was rectified yesterday when we were guided by Gareth. I have heard numerous guides in the past but he surpassed almost all of them. His knowledge and enthusiasm were outstanding and he made full use of his time as a History teacher. I had no idea that standing in the middle of a huge map of the English borders and Wales could be so interesting on a cold day. His story telling brought the castle to life and this was supported by some excellent models of the earlier buildings.
10 out of 10 for the visit and thoroughly recommended for people of all ages.

Yes it is, you would need your waterproof coats on. The castle car park, which is clearly marked, is about 5 minutes walk away. There is a cafe inside the grounds, so you can have a snack or lunch. There are lots of areas which are inside the castle, but they are not co-joined. You should find it an interesting historical experience, as we did

Why do you charge for gift aid I don’t understand when you get the extra when you claim the money back from the government?
I work in a museum and we don’t charge extra seems wrong

I wondered about that and checked the tax rules. For admission to qualify as a donation for gift aid purposes it needs to be at least 10% more than the standard admission fee with no additional benefit.
There’s an article about it on the museums association website that you may find interesting.
