Built in 1858 is this blue stone Gothic style church- the blue stone was quarried locally.
This small country town has an amazing array of beautiful buildings- and not necessarily on the main road. Kyneton was established in 1850.
This is one of the impressive churches in the town and is worth stopping to look at.

This sits at a high point in the twon at Ebden Street Ebden.The foundation stone was laid in 1857 and is constructed from blue stone like a number of others in Kyneton. Worth a visit.

Location was easy to find in this small town. Attended anticipation mass in this lovely cosy church. Celebrant/priest made it a point to meet and greet parishioners after the service. He was friendly and even gave us some ideas on what to do during our week's stay in Kyneton.

I can never comprehend how such a small community can build such a magnificent edifice in what would have been a farming community when it was constructed.
Reminds me of what small villages do/did in the UK.
It is so solid and well kept. But the most special thing is the Stations of the Cross which are much more than paintings and must be seen when visiting.

While traveling, we especially appreciate the opportunity to attend services at local churches like this one. Our Lady of the Rosary in Kyneton is a beautiful bluestone church and was very welcoming. The Stations of the Cross were carved in Munich, Germany.

On a sunny day its a good experience to walk the Labyrinth in the gardens of this church.
