Great street to browse for unique accessories, clothes, art ,(cusack&cusack( sculptures, homewares, fresh produce (Watts Fresh).....the list is long. Give yourself enough time as a couple of hours was not enough.
And then when you need to rest there is a superb range of quality cafes, restaurants, bars - Animus is a must.

What you won't see here is the Pied Piper of Hamelin skipping down the street in his multi-coloured clothing with rats trailing him.
What you will see is ...a stunning street full of shops that entice you into them, verandahs and old world charm. I have visited this street a few times this year- mostly for it's cafe culture. Kyneton has exceptional cafes. The last time I was in town I went linen shopping ... one of my shortcomings is my love of linen. :)
The street is an essential part of the Kyneton experience and one that you should add to your list of experiences.

Plenty of shops with unusual wares. An interesting road for a browse in shops plus lunch. Antique and modern shops.

The historic bluestone architecture is inspiring and wonderful.
However at just before 0800 on a weekday morning, we didn't find anything of note open for breakfast. Perhaps we missed a bakery, but overall, disappointing to find the main street so quiet.

Very interesting variety of shops. Unfortunately due to COVID restrictions it was difficult in some shops but worth the wait. Get shopping early. Will definitely come back for a days shopping.

Lots of great cafes and interesting arty shops. Very quaint and historic. Interesting to walk around some of the back streets near here to see some historic churches and beautiful homes.
