If you’re looking for a place to sit and sip a glass of wine while enjoying a beautiful vineyard view, keep looking. The wines were ok, nothing great.

My daughter believes that experiences together are better gifts than “stuff,” and I agree. She bought a wine tasting and picnic lunch at Pilot Knob as a birthday gift that the two of us could enjoy.
The day we chose ahead of time turned out to be a messy, rainy one, but Beth (one of the owners) brightened up the experience with her lively presence. As she poured each of the 4 wines in the tasting, she described the nuances we might expect in them. All but one were whites. While we generally prefer red wines, the ones we tasted were very good. We ended up buying a bottle to have with our lunch.
The salami, cheese and grape platter was served with a freshly baked baguette, and went well with the wine.
The experience lasted a couple of hours, and made for a nice memory.The interior of the building is warm and welcoming, and there’s a lovely porch and serene view that the blustery weather prevented us from enjoying.
The winery is located in a very off the beaten path location along poorly marked and poorly maintained roads. There was no sign on the building when we finally arrived, so we weren’t totally sure at first that it was the right place. If you’re into local Texas wines, though, it’s worth the trip.

They hosted a game day for our little town's Friends of the Library and I thoroughly enjoy their facility and hospitality. Beautiful views and a well thought out building, and the wine is good too. A very enjoyable day.

we have been members for multiple years. we really like the owners who are very friendly. the wine is very good. the view is serene, and beautiful. we also have enjoyed watching the cows, and donkeys when they walk nearby. enjoy looking at the "pilot knob" in the background. sometimes they have music, food trucks, and local vendors. we also enjoy the cheese and meat plate, and bread plate. just a nice place to go, and a delightful day trip. will be back soon.

Very nice tasting room but the wrap around patio is super cool. Vast, open land with a great breeze on a hot day. Fabulous place to sit back and relax with a glass or a bottle of wine. I would have rated it higher just for the location but the dry red wine choices where limited. There were only 2. We liked what we got but would have enjoyed a full tasting. Worth a stop just for the view.

We have gone there every year for the last 5 years. Great fun and met lots of interesting people. Great wine tasting!

This is a great winery set in the hill country with amazing views. The wine is wonderful with so many choices. Might seem like a long drive but it's well worth it. The hill country at it's finest!

Definitely worth the drive! The back patio provided shade on what turned out to be a very sunny day, but a little too warm for us for April. You could easily see for miles and miles and get a glimpse of an old volcano in the distance. Quiet, serene, tranquil and peaceful--what we definitely needed that day! Enjoyed learning about their start and took a quick walk through the vineyard as well. Their merlot was my favorite! We'll be back (and bring some friends) on our annual trip to the Poppy Festival in Georgetown.

This vineyard is really difficult to find, and not worth the trouble. The wine tasting was drawn out despite the fact that there was only one other couple there. The wine is just okay. Left without any, which is unusual.

Newly discovered winery up the road on 183. They offer nice flights of white and red. Be sure to try their award winning reds and always ask if they have some "off the tasting list" wines that are open. Cheese and meat platter was the perfect accompaniment. Sitting out back and watching the sunset was the perfect way to end a day.
