Christmas Wonderland!

Looking to get a taste of Christmas cheer while in the Dallas area! Look no further than the Arboretum and Botanical gardens! This lovely space transforms into a Christmas wonderland for the last half of the year.

My mother and I were in town for business and were looking to find something to do for fun. We weren’t sold on going to an arboretum/botanical garden in November but due to the lack of things to do in the area, we gave it a try. To our surprise, the Christmas season was already being celebrated.

We walked through the 12 Days of Christmas, each represented in a unique way. We were also able to enjoy the Christmas tree show (even in the daylight) and the Christmas village.

Would love to come back here during the spring and see all the beautiful flowers blooming.

November is not the best time

We had a good time seeing the 12 days of Christmas. The pumpkin patch was over but not cleaned up yet. And there wasn't a lot of flowers at this point of the year. Was able to push my mom around in her wheelchair with no problem.

Fantastic Christmas display

As out of town visitors we discovered this activity. We went in the evening ( bought tickets on line in advance), to see the.Christmas display. It is really well done. There are 12 gazebos each decorated as one of the 12 days on Christmas song. There also is a well done Christmas village. There you can get a beverage incl wine and beer, a few food items, and a few specialty items from vendors. It will get very crowded after thanksgiving up to Christmas; go early if you want to miss the big crowds.

No Customer Service Support Whatsoever

I purchased daytime tickets by accident that cost me $51 and they won't switch it over to nighttime tickets that actually came out to $48. That is so ridiculous that they won't help the customer out when they have the space available. We spoke to somebody on the phone and also somebody named Daisy who provided no help. We also emailed Kaylyn A who didn't help as well.

Really sad that it's the holidays and even for a holiday event they won't accommodate, it will be literally impossible for us to go during the daytime. We purchased it in error and the nighttime preview tickets were $3 cheaper so they aren't losing any money.

Waste of time and nothing but lies

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED! My kiddo's first kinder field trip was ruined by their lack of preparation for rainy days as well as their lack of instruction. Our school's trip planner attempted to reschedule days before and was told to try to come anyway and that we would get a raincheck if needed. She again was met with opposition the day we arrived, in a rainstorm, with 3 bus loads of kinder kids, as they instructed us that we needed to keep our planned field trip and get off the buses. The planner again insisted we leave and try another day, and then was told we wouldn't be able to get a raincheck. So I guess the parents that drove the entire way and paid their entry will just have to deal with a wasted day and ruined first experience with their kiddos. Shame on you! Will never recommend this place.

beautiful grounds, well kept

It didn't take long to get in. The areas are beautiful and very well kept. The pumpkin patch was well done. They need signs that the pumpkins are not for taking. They also need signs stating this way to this garden as we were lost most of the time. The map is maybe ok. It kept getting more and more crowded. Restrooms could have been cleaner. There is an automatic 3% convenience fee added to your lunch bill.

Flowers weren't vibrant after a long hot summer

The photos of this "must see" attraction look fantastic, but must have been taken in late Spring or early Autumn as the colours are striking and vibrant.
However, I came on a scorching hot day at 34 degrees, and the past few weeks have also been too hot.
The result? Lots of dry and dull blooms. This is not a reflection on the gardens, the layout is stunning, but the heat really had an effect on the place.
Trams are available to hop on or off, the guides are friendly and knowledgeable.
Downside was quality of catering. I had a toasted cheese sandwich and luke-warm coke for a very expensive fee that certainly wasn't justified.
Highlight (for me) was entry into the DeGolyer house, which is a free admission in the gardens.
The ladies who act as curators and guides were very professional and obviously are very knowledgeable as they guide us through this beautiful house. It was quite sad to see part of the house is a restaurant, and the beautiful veranda is part of the restaurant. I who have loved to have seen the original kitchens that served the house, but unfortunately, like other parts of the house, were off-limits, as the restaurant has upgraded them.
Oh, pumpkins everywhere, and I do mean everywhere! The guide said approx 80,000 pumpkins were here. I can quite believe it!
I'm sure this IS a beautiful attraction, just don't go after a long Texan summer.

I attended a wedding at this facility. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and made for a breathtaking backdrop for pictures.

Gorgeous and well kept haven in Dallas

Wonderful!!! Was a hot day but we found plenty of shade. Pumpkins were out. It was just gorgeous. Went to the children’s area which is more for little kids but my 15 and 10 year olds still enjoyed it. Cafe was excellent. Highly recommend for an outing.
