Great experience today at Texas Motor Speedway! My husband purchased the 24 minutes package for me for me Christmas and it was a blast! Instructor and spotter were patient and helpful. I will say that they could provide better arrival instructions so you know where to go when you get there. And if, like me, you’ve never really watched Nascar you’d benefit from looking up the terminology so you can follow the instructional video a little better. The experience though was top notch! I reached 157mph and it is something I will never forget! Thanks everyone for an incredible day!

I've watched so much NASCAR racing, both on TV and at the tracks, that I just had to give it a try. I did it (made the 150+ MPH club!), and now I've got to do it again. It was the most amazing thing I've ever done, and I jumped off the Stratosphere in Las Vegas! If you have a bucket list that doesn't include driving a stock car, you need to add this to your list. If it is on your list, you'll do like me, and put it back on to do again. I was even lucky enough to get to drive the Mountain Dew #88!

I wanted to share my disappointment with my Richard Petty Driving Experience at the Texas Motor Speedway on March 5, 2016.
My entire family was out for the event and I was number 16 in line for my turn. While waiting, we consistently noticed a car that was moving at a snail's pace compared to others on the track. We assessed it was the driver's reluctance to go beyond their comfort level. As another driver took her turn, we noticed the same. This would be the same car selected for my turn in the rotation.
I am a pilot, competent with driving a standard, and very comfortable driving a vehicle. However, despite my inputs on the gas pedal, I noticed my speed was that of the same of the other previous drivers in this particular car.
After receiving my printout of speeds and noticing an average of 105 MPH for my 8 laps, I was hugely disappointed. The $100 video I purchased is something I will never watch again, as my instructor conducted a condescending narrative at a level that made this a negative experience and unpleasant to watch. There was one item of interest on the video which was the transition from Lap 7 to Lap 8. I noticed it was at this point that the instructor adjusted the governor to allow a faster speed. I was not proud to advertise to my peers that my top speed in a NASCAR was 119 MPH.
At first, I was reluctant to file this complaint; however, as I was driving down the interstate yesterday in my 4 cylinder Nissan Versa economy automobile at a speed only a mere 20 MPH slower than my average in a NASCAR on the Texas Motor Speedway, my frustration grew. If legal, I could have easily matched and possibly even exceeded what I experienced on March 5th at the Texas Motor Speedway.
I submitted this very review to their website, but never received a response. For what it's worth, most cars looked like they achieved a respectable NASCAR speed. Mine just wasn't the case.

If you want to go fast, this is the place. It's worth every penny. I want to use fowl language but I wont. Driving at 150 mph is quite extreme and invigorating. How's that!!

All I can say is how soon can I go again?! The right seat instructor made ALL the difference! I would never would have been able to get up to speed and learn the track SO soon and easily! I'll be back for 80! :)

I've done NASCAR driving experiences three times now. Twice at TMS, once at Joliet. Two of these times, was with RPDE - one at TMS one at Joliet. These guys are real pros. They take you step-by-step through the car, the track, procedures, etc. Then, they strap you into a 600 hp real NASCAR vehicle and turn you loose! Well, not so much loose as... You follow your instructor around the track, literally in his tire tracks, and within about 1-2 car lengths. As you demonstrate your ability to keep up with the instructors car in front of you and to steer the right "line", they pick up the pace. My max speed was around 155 mph and my highest average speed for a lap was around 148mph. It's over too soon. When you climb out of the car, you can just feel the adreneline coursing through your veins. Great experience, HIGHLY recommend.!

I first did the RPDE in Kansas City in June 2011. It was a "bucket list" item, that has now turned into an annual bucket list.
From the time we arrived, we were handled with professionalism. Everything went smooth and a great time was had by all.
I was fitted with a drivers fire suit, helmet, put thru a safety and driving orientation. One of the on track instructors sat and talked with my wife and I while he waited to start his portion of the instruction. Turns out, he is the son of long time ARCA driver Frank Kimmel.
Everyone was friendly and appreciative. Plenty of pictures were taken, I was able to purchase a plaque with my picture on it, I received a printout of my lap times along with a certificate with my top speed listed. I also was able to purchase a video from an in car camera of the driving experience. They also allow your friends and family to join you in the pits so they can be there when you climb in the car, watch you drive, and be there when you climb out of the car to share in the excitement.

I have a March 6 date for Lone Star at 2;30 so what time do I need to arrive ahead of time?
