As my title says it is a tiny museum. Before visiting it I had the impression that it would a grand one and hence when I came out I was disappointed. The Douglas D-3 e hinted there is an interesting piece. The plane is really a museum piece and it makes us think how far we have progressed in building aircrafts.
Children will not be bored visiting the museum as they usually become as there are many gaming equipment’s for them.
I impressed me in the museum is the film show. Though the theme is advertisement for the Americans airlines, some crew of the airlines’ tell the audience what led them to join the fleet. I am sure it will definitely motivate children and youngsters chose an airline profession.
I hope American Airlines will expand their museum.

This is a sanctuary for aviation lovers! Lot of history and technical details while you go throughout the museum. A beautiful DC-3 is on show with beautiful painting and impeccable inside cabin:

It was "okay." Maybe go if you have never seen it before. Maybe. It was nice to see some airline maintainer exhibits. The DC-3 on display is the best exhibit, but had a funky smell in the interior. Was it worth the $9 for each adult admission? No. Parking was free.

This was my favorite stop during my trip to Dallas and Fort Worth. What makes separates this museum from others is the number of interactive exhibits. Visitors can feel what it's like to fly a jumbo jet or sit inside one of American Airlines' first planes from the 1940s. When I was there the museum also had a small exhibit called Destination Moon: the Apollo 11 Mission. It is a poster exhibit but still informative.

We had time to kill before our flight, and are avgeeks, so went to check out this museum. It was mostly good, though has the potential to be much better. Probably best for kids, but if you're into aviation in general, it's worth a stop.
The DC-3 was probably the best part and some artifacts are interesting, but there are few.
The video is hilarious for how out-of-date it is. There wasn't a date but had to be circa early 90s. Sitting in old business class seats in the theater was sort of fun, though.

Great aviation museum with lots of artifacts, volunteers to help with info, a movie and a gift shop. Highly recommended.

Try to visit on a day that it's not crowded, because your kiddo will want to stay at every exhibit for an hour. One of the most interactive museums we've visited. I learned as much as my 9 year old!

Folks don't know that the original Ford Tri-Motor 5-AT of American Airlines was the same plane of Charles Lindbergh and Haliburton Oil of Duncan, Oklahoma. On the larboard side of the fuselage was the name American Airlines while the starboard side was written "S.A.F.E. Way Air Lines" (Southwest Air Fast Express). The plane is in the Smithsonian.

Great place to visit if you like aviation. This is a very small museum. So, you don't need to dedicate a lot of time to visit unless you really want to. Their exhibits outline the history of American Airlines. We found it very interesting.

Is there a way to get to the museum from the DFW Airport on a Saturday with public transportation? A quick google search turned up no results on the weekend.

The museum is only minutes from the DFW airport, so a cab can certainly get you there. I don't know of any bus routes that go by there. Any cab company should be able to give an approximate cost by phone. Avoid the peak traffic hours and it's less than a ten minute ride. If you have a long layover, it's a great place to visit.
