I needed to park my car and the paid parking meter displayed something that I had a question about, so I walked into the chocolate shop to ask someone who might know why there was an error message. Since I was there, I thought I might as well buy some small item. I asked the cashier what the most popular (best-selling) item was. She told me it was either the chocolate turtle or the almond (or pecan? I can’t recall) bark. I told her I’ll order just one turtle. She seemed slightly confused by such a small order, then weighed it, then told me the price would be $2.30. While handing her my credit card, I asked if they usually sold items in a certain minimum weight or a certain number of them at a time. She told me “no, people can get whatever they’d like and we just weigh it.” So then I asked the price per pound, since I saw that the scale showed 0.05 pounds. She said “33.50.” I thanked her and took my candy and credit card, as well as receipt, and strolled out while eating a single piece of candy that cost 2.30 and was gone within two bites. Then I calculated the price based upon the scale’s weight reading of 0.05 pounds. It should have come out to 1.68, but it seems she was a bit confused about the small purchase and chose to charge me for 1.4 of those candies instead of 1. I would have been fine buying a second piece of the candy if it would have made it easier for the shop, but it’s not cool to charge for invisible extra chocolate if I’ve purchased just one piece. One turtle candy piece isn’t worth 2.30. This wasn’t that fancy of a place, anyway. It tasted the same as the candy I can buy in a nice box for one third the price per piece, which is the same quality. Oh well. I just won’t plan to stop by again. Maybe they thought I was a foreign tourist who doesn’t know the usual price for things in this part of the country. I live in the Dallas metro area, so it didn’t work out for them.

on sweet roll street what a great place,
the selection is extensive but the take your time,
i went for the sugar free options, there were also many selections, got one of each.

The truffles - both milk and dark chocolate - were delicious. The toffee was okay. The employees didn't seem to know much about the chocolates. I asked what made them European and they had a sort of vague answer. I asked if the truffle called milk white chocolate had white chocolate inside and the young woman said she wasn't sure, but thought it was just the white chocolate drizzle on the top. The staff should definitely be more knowledgeable about the products they are selling. If the marketing says "European" they should know what makes that different and special. If you don't ask questions and just buy what looks good, you will be happy. :)

I've been here several times and the products are pretty consistent. A wide variety to choose from including about a half dozen sugar free options. You can buy piece by piece, 1/2 pound box ( will hold about 15) or a full pound box ( around 30). They do weigh the boxes so your 1 pound box may be over the list price ( just a be aware). There are several schakolad stores but each one makes the candy onsite so I've never had a problem with freshness.

Because there was nowhere to park, I dropped my teenager off and circled around while she shopped. The chocolate was dry, not creamy at all. The marzipan has a bitter aftertaste. I wish we hadn’t wasted our time or money on this place.

Schakolad’s is a chocolate lovers dream. The chocolates are wonderful with the dark chocolate being rich and melts in your mouth. The selections are large and their custom molds make wonderful chocolate gifts.

Stopped in on a visit to Sundance square and bought a 1/2 lb box. It has 15-18 pieces depending on their size and is very well priced. The chocolates are delicious and this appears to be a family run business. Big thumbs up!

Visited with my boyfriend. The chocolates were delicious. There are a lot of options for every chocolate lovers desires. I also purchased chocolate gifts for my nieces. Cute place to indulge, buy a chocolate gift, or even a chocolate mold if you’re into making your own. Will visit again when in Fort Worth.

It has potential to be better. I was with two other people and they enjoyed their pretzels. I ordered fudge and I asked questions before I ordered and the lady helping me told me it is really good, but they cannot do samples. I should of known from the "we don't do samples" that I should of went with the basic candy. The fudge is not that great. It is not creamy and it taste old and off flavor. The dark sea salt and chocolate one I actually spit out. If I would of tasted it first I would of known right off the bat that it was poor tasting fudge.
The two females working were quite hasty and annoyed by my questions and time making decisions. It was near closing time when we walked in so I assume that is why, but when you are in an area like Sundance Square on the weekend it should be something that you expect. My recommendation is avoid the fudge and make sure you don't come in within 5 minutes of closing.
