I booked this class for two in the last spots on the first Saturday morning in December 2022, about a week in advance. It helped to call ahead as the website wasn't clear. It was just under $150 for two and worth every penny. I've always loved glassblowing demos at Renaissance festivals and this was my chance to get in on the action!
We showed up early and after signing waivers, got started right away. One of the craftspeople took us through the initial molten glass gather in the kiln, fitting on the pipe and rolling in the white snowman color. We had to keep the rather heavy pipe turning the whole time but we got to do a lot of the actual work. We even got to use pincers to push on the glass!
My companion picked a traditional black hat for her snowman and I, of course, went with purple. To create the two-part bulbous snowman body, the craftswoman blew into the pipe while the glass end was in a snowman-shaped mold. She then pinched off the hat and put it in the kiln to bake overnight. We picked them up the next day, snug in boxes and with a scarf to tie on.

This place was very commercial. No actual glassblowing going on Friday afternoon, though we were invited to see the working studio.

I moved to Grapevine and saw that I could make my own Christmas ornament and it was well worth the price. It was a great keepsake to commemorate my move here. You start out by picking up to three colors for your ornament. You get to stand there and feel the heat from the ovens and help the artist make your ornament. And then you get to pick it up the next day or they ship it.

We decided to do the holiday ornament glass blowing for my birthday, and it did not disappoint. They were very busy, but they stayed patient and worked through the pieces with each person quickly so it was not a long wait. We enjoyed just watching the other customers make their ornaments while we waited. They do allow you to be pretty hands-on, and you get pretty close to the furnace. I love art and creative things, so this is something I had been wanting to experience and I’m very glad we did it. We’re excited to see our finished pieces. I also bought a tiny pumpkin from the gallery, which I’m thrilled to display year round in my home. Thanks for the great time, guys!

My husband and I went on our anniversary and made a Christmas ornament- lots of fun. It is a quick process once you pick out your colors you want to use but such a neat experience. Workers are nice and let you do as much as you can so you have a pretty finished product!

While in town for work, I visited Vetro Glassblowing Studio to participate in a pumpkin making help session.
It was fun and informative. I really thought I'd get to help/participate more than I actually did. Each "student" is paired with an artist who works to make your glass pumpkin. I got to choose the colors of my pumpkin and dip the clear hot glass into the color "bits", we then put it back in the fire so melt the bits. The artist then took it out and twisted and turned it and he blew into the tube to expand it. There was more twisting, more heating, more clear glass added, then the artist put it into a mold to get it's stripes/ridges.
The artist added the stem, pulled the glass then twisted it into the perfect twisty stem.
I could come back in 3 days to pick it up (we made it on a Saturday, it was available for pick up on Tuesday).
If you want to participate, you'll need to register ahead of time, but you can come watch anytime.
I love my pumpkin and it is fun to have experienced it. I would recommend it to someone looking for a fun and educational experience.
They do other helping sessions with different pieces of art at different times of the year. The website is very helpful and explanatory.

We love going to Vetro, including our 4-year-old granddaughter. The artwork is outstanding. It's also, a wonderful place for your company's next team-building experience.

We watched them make Globes for a lighting fixture. Step by step. Very informative. Slow process. Lot of heat in the back. 1200 degree fire. Burns every day,all day. Beautiful pieces there for sale. Nice place to visit. You can have them make special things for you. Glad I went.

We stoped because everything is a step away from the wonderful attractions that there are in Grapevine. Its a free show and incredible to see, the place is hot!! They have fans but it will be hot. Still is worth seeing!!! The guys there are true artist! Buy yourself a nice crystal souvenir before leaving.
