Europatea : Church of St. Augustine in Almagro, where there was a St. Augustine there is now a shoe and where the Virgin Mary was now there is an animal with horns. No sign on the door, it just says St. Augustine's Church. Teasing? Offense to Christians? Or both... When you enter you pay a ticket to the museum and it seems that there is a museum in the church, not that the church itself is desacralized as an absurd exhibition hall.

The church of St. Augustine, or of the Blessed Sacrament, which once belonged to the convent of the Blessed Sacrament founded by the order of St. Augustine, dates from the first half of the 18th century and is one of the most significant examples of the Baroque period in Ciudad Real.

Church or theater museum..?
Hello families I have already resumed my leisure-social activity, going out to enjoy with my family places of this our Spain..
This time we are en route and have stopped in Almagro, famous for its pickled eggplants and other typical delicacies.
We're walking through these hills, and we've entered St. Agustin's Church, or so it says on the facade sign.
Upon entering, the image changes, there is a museum dedicated to the Spanish theater..within the walls of the church, you can see the vestiges of war, there is no altar, no saints, no biblical figures..only drawings..books..photographs, short clips of videos about theater...
Recommend it as a visit? It will depend on your desire to see things related to Spanish theater.
I, here I leave..we will continue visiting this town..

Church to absolutely visit. The snowy white of the walls hosts fragments and frescoes all very well explained. The atmosphere is unforgettable: you go into the side aisles and into the rooms to the side and behind the altar, with a small exhibition, enjoying the silence. There is an upper floor with two wings and the possibility of climbing the tower from which you can appreciate an excellent view of the city. not to be missed

El Convento y su iglesia fueron fundados en 1635 por los Agustinos Recoletos.
La fachada principal de la iglesia está realizada en mampostería. En el interior del templo aparecen decorados con frescos realizados al temple que cubren las bóvedas, las cúpulas y parte del crucero.
Actualmente es un templo desacralizado y es considerado como una obra maestra del Barroco en C. Real.
Se puede visitar y subir a la torre. La entrada da acceso a otros monumentos de la ciudad.

La iglesia en si no esta mal, pero no es nada del.otto mundo. Está desacralizada y en su interior hay un museo costumbrista que no resultó de mi interés. Quizá a otros les guste.

Una pena ver cómo lo que era una iglesia espectacular se ha convertido en una sombra de lo que fue, tras los destrozos en la guerra de la independencia y la guerra civil.

Cuando vas a Almagro se piensa siempre en su corral de comedias, pero la Iglesia de San Agustín es para mi, el espacio más bonito de la localidad.

Templo barroco desacralizado, utilizado como sala de exposiciones eventualmente. Su estructura está bastante maltrecha, pues se puede ver la bóveda recorrida por innumerables grietas, e incluso desplazada hacia un lado. Aún así mantiene pinturas murales y yeserías policromadas tanto enparedes como en las bóvedas.
Imprescindible subir a la torre desde donde se disfruta de unas maravillosas vistas sobre la plaza Mayor.

Vale la pena subir a la torre desde la cual hay unas buenas vistas de la plaza mayor. La iglesia está vacía y destacan las pinturas que tiene en el techo. y la cúpula.
