We visited the place on 12/24/22 as part of a tour around the area. We had a great time learning and interacting with the wolf/dogs. We had a tour for about 2 hours with a very friendly guide and learned a lot from her. Animals are very well taken care of and the shelter definitely knows what they are doing. It is a lot of work and effort keeping the place up and running. Volunteers are highly appreciated….. we live in Houston! Too far for us to help but definitely worth the trip. If you like animals, especially hybrid Wolfs is highly recommended

A must do if you are in the area! The staff and volunteers were very nice and accommodating. We arrived from south Louisiana (4 hours away) almost two hours early for our tour and they let us do our tour early. It was cold and raining but we still had a great time. The wolfdogs looked very happy and well cared for. Will definitely come here again!!

We love their new home and the gift shop with lots of quality gifts from which to choose. We came for a special event and found out we can bring our RV to stay in for their sleepover nites. The wolves looked to be in excellent condition and their areas were spacious and well thought out. The docents were friendly and informative. All our questions were answered and we came away with some beautiful souvenirs. Well worth the trip. A great place to bring families and enjoy the outdoors.

This is a top-notch Save the Wolfdog place. We visited last year. We came with a couple of other photographers to take photos (obviously). Here they allow you to actually go in with the Wolfdogs and pet them. If you are calm, they will be calm. I really like this place.

Amazing creatures! Highly recommend visiting this sanctuary. Everyone at the facility was very friendly, safe and well-educated. Definitely a fun and educational experience!

Why we think this place is the best if you love wolves:
1. gift shop with huge assortment of quality items at an affordable price (ornaments, keychains, jewelry, signs, patches, stickers, shirts, hoodies, cups, koozies, caps, bags). You can buy online, too!
2. Walk the dogs, touch the dogs, get kisses, volunteer and spend time socializing the animals
3. Adopt
4. Operated by volunteers and people who love and are are passionate about the animals
5. Educational and individualized tour
6. Large enclosures in wooded area
7. The cofounder and an employee live on site with their hybrids
8. Ample parking, welcoming staff, and a real restroom
9. Close to town (food and gas)

We drove from Pearland and it was worth it. Everybody there was so friendly and informative. We learned so much and got to spend lots of time interacting with the wolf dogs. We really enjoyed our day trip!

My daughter and I visited the Shelter and were totally enthralled with all the animals. We got to visit with the dogs on their terms. A very unique experience highly recommended to any Wolfdog lovers. A must see if you are in this part of the state

We were looking for something different on our tour of Texas from the UK and this was one of the highlights. The tour was excellent and took over 4 hours and we were allowed in all the cages with the wolf dogs. In most cases they jumped all over us and were very friendly and wanted stroking. As they were moulting at the time, our clothes were covered in their hairs. The guide was very informative and we found out a lot of things we didn't know. They look after the Wolfdogs really well and are very concerned about their well being. They have plenty of room to run and play and they enjoy meeting all the visitors.
It is an excellent place to visit and well worth the time and effort. There is no fixed entrance fee but we were only too pleased to give them a donation and buy souvenirs from the shop.

Four of us from the Woodlands Camera club made the visit on February 27,2019. I am impressed with how well these rescued hybrid wolves are taken care of. Steve and Nick, our volunteers and mentors took time to explain how the animals reached the rescue and where they came from. Texas Wolfdog Project has saved animals from as far away as Ohio. They are fed an expensive proper diet, kept up to date on veterinary needs and the staff work hard to make the wolfdogs excellent ambassadors, not to encourage people to go purchase one, but for the benefit of their animals mental health.
