This was my first time tuning in the River. I borrowed a tube thinking it would save me more money than renting one, but the price to bring your own is $20 including the shuttle vs $25 so it is not a significant savings.
For me, I would come more often if the price was lower. I will probably not come again. $20 not worth it.
The chutes are fun. Recommend bringing rope to tie your friends together on tubes and bringing extra bottomed tube for cooler.
Wear lots of sunscreen

We floated the Comal river and it was a very relaxing float. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They provided everything we needed for a safe float.

I would also rate them zero stars! Really poor customer service. We went on a busy Saturday and there was literally nowhere in town to park and the folks on the phone pretty much told us they had no suggestions for what to do. Most of our party had our own tubes, and since we couldn't find parking right away, we wound up just walking our tubes down to the river anyway, so I am an idiot and paid $100 for 1 tube (which was an old black one bc they were out of tubes) and a return ride back to retrieve our keys from the building (to then have to walk a long ways back to parking across town). If I had to do again, I'd just jump in the water with our tubes or rent from one of the other rental companies with an adjacent parking lot! The girls at the front desk were super unorganized. To top it off they somehow separated his keys from my license and forgot to give my husband back my drivers license so we had to turn the car around on i35 and go back.... where they insisted at first they didn't have my license without looking for it. Not the best experience. Lots of rental companies around. I'd go where there is parking!

Don't waste your money on this company. They screwed over my brother and his girlfriend with bad tubes. We learned the hard way that you don't have to rent tubes from a company like this. They dropped us off at the river entrance and realized that we could have saved $20 per person by just going to the entrance ourselves and paying $2 per person! Bring your own tubes and save your money and time! We had a great time on the river but this company was shoddy.

We have reserved tubes a few times now through Rockin' R and have had great experiences, even during COVID! We went again last weekend, they make it very easy and convenient. We had one bottomless tube with a hole and they were able to refund as after the ride. I learned though for next time that you can call them on the river and they will bring you another. FYI, the tubes with bottoms are more sturdy if you want to go that route.

It's too bad zero stars is not an option, because that's what they deserve. Their website clearly states, "call ahead of time to find out age restrictions." I was going to hangout for a friend's birthday on the bank and I called ahead of time and was told I could have my 2 year old daughter with me hanging out on the banks as long as she's not IN the water. I arrive and am told this same information by an employee on a golf cart in the parking lot. As im walking in, I am stopped by what I was told was the 'supervisor'.. She turns me around saying I can not be there with my daughter, not even in a chair on the banks. What is advertised as a 'family friendly' establishment was all but friendly to my family. I will not be returning to this area, and as a new braunfels resident who frequents the rivers I will urge anyone not to bring their business here either.

I love the convenience of not having to haul my tubes and coolers down a road to access the river. Everything is right there. Shuttle is awesome. I rode the 5hour route and so worth it. I have gone twice this year.

We get there, go to the wrong river. They tell us 25 for a bottom tube, then when we get there we use a bottomless tube. They didn't return the 15 bucks from the extra 5 dollars for 3 tubes. And if you want them to bring you to the start again it is 5 dollars more. Its just money money money. Its like why can't i pay for my tube and go. NO they need your license, your keys and extra money. Its ridiculous. We decided we will buy tubes so we don't need to mess with the people.

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any confusion on river locations, as we have a location on the Comal River, along with 3 locations on the Guadalupe River. Our tubes with and without bottoms are both $25 each. This $25 includes your tube rental, river access, and shuttle ride. If you wish you bring your own tube and still utilize our river access and shuttles, it is $20/person.

First Time we tried Rafting, so we choose 1Men+three raft ( best option full family in 1 raft tube), Excellent spot for Rafting & my kid having lot of fun !!! Fresh water & river is so wide give more advantage for First timers not to bump on others / hitting the trees etc. Not so deep in some place so kids enjoyed alot.
Best place more than san macros river.

we are family of 12. We have 8 yr old, 2 6 year olds a 4 year old and a 2 year old. do you have age restrictions. We would want the younger kids to be able to ride with an adult.
Everyone floating with Rockin' R must be at least 6 years old and know how to swim.
What are your group rates?

Group Rates start at 25 or more people and depend on the number of people in your group and what you're trying to do. Send us an email and we can get you started!
Is there a camp ground, if so how much and how many tents for each spot?

We don't have a campground, but Camp Huaco Springs manages two campgrounds that we have locations at. You can call them at 830-625-5411 for pricing and information.
Is rafting good right now. July 2019? Do you have any cabins or anyting to spend the night around there.? And how can I book for a weekend?

Yes it is! Flows have been great all season. Camp Huaco Springs (830-625-5411) has cabins but I’m not sure of their availability. There are a lot of hotels and vacation rentals in New Braunfels, so you should be able to find a convenient place to stay. You can book toobing and rafting online at rockinr. com

Toobing is $23 per person and rafting is $40 per person. That includes all taxes, fees, and your shuttle ride.

My husband cannot walk long distances—would floating the river work for him? Do you have to carry your toob in low spots?

The downriver section, when you put in at Gruene and float down, should not have any walking on it. At these flows, the most walking you’d have would be about 5-10 steps if you floated through a lower section of the rapid and got stuck. Past that, there is a little walking to/from the river, but if you let us know of any issues before floating, we can often help by getting the shuttle as close to the river as possible.

We have floated the comal several times and are wanting to try out the Guadalupe this weekend. We will have several kids ranging from 8 - 13. Are the rapids safe for children this age? They are all good swimmers and manage the tube chutes in the comal fine.

Yes, in my opinion the river is very safe for kids. Beautiful slow ride. However, there are a few mild rapids but I would not worry about those at all with kids. Enjoy!

Yes, we just ask they are friendly, on a leash, and have their nails trimmed.
