The first floor is a good quality gallery with some exceptional pieces. For example, they have a good collection of Josh Simpson glass work, one of my favorite glass blowers. The saleswoman downstairs mentioned there were two large Simpson "mega-worlds" upstairs, so I climbed the stairs to the second floor. I was very surprised to see that most of the best art is upstairs. There were some exceptional photographs and paintings, as well as the two largest glass spheres by Simpson. I was like a kid in a candy shop savoring the riches before me. Treat yourself and go upstairs to the second floor. If you like fine art, you won't be disappointed. There is a rich variety of arts and crafts, something for most budgets. Greg Worden is a very kind and helpful owner and will be happy to show you the highlights and help you any way he can. This gallery is a real find.

Thank you for taking time to enjoy the gallery. After several months of being closed due to the pandemic, we have reopened with limited hours -- noon to 4 p.m. daily or by appointment. Will look forward to seeing you again on a visit to Brattleboro. We've taken lots of safety precautions to make sure we all feel safe in this changed environment. We have masks if you need one, hand sanitizer, disposable gloves, plenty of room for social distancing and lots of wonderful things to peruse. Best wishes to all of us.

Greg is the nicest owner and he'll offer to put an item on layaway if you find it a bit pricey. Vermont Artisan Designs is an amazing place. I bought three decorative art tiles and I love them in my home. Upstairs is an art gallery where each room is devoted to a single artist. My favorite is Juan Ramirez' dramatic paintings. You can just go up there to enjoy the art and the prices are manageable for fine art - from the hundreds to the low thousands. The crafts downstairs are impeccable - wood, pottery, glass, fabric.

When you first walk in Greg W greeted you and welcomed you into the shop. Asked if we needed help and I said "No just looking". Even then he was polite and answered all our questions with a smile. A true gentleman and its good to see the hospitality. I walked around and he said many thing are made in VT and others aren't. Everything was just so beautiful and great prices. I saw many things I could have bought but decided to get some postcards. I would go back to this place just for Greg. If you are in the area stop in and see all the wonders this cute little shop has to offer.

We stopped in with a friend who knew Gary Worden. Gary gave a very interesting tour of the wonderful art from Vermont and New England.
One can only wonder in awe of the different artists and media that expresses their talent. It is located right on Main Street in Brattleboro and a place that you can spend hours visiting. Drop by - you will be pleasantly surprised.

What a great eclectic type of place. Lots of different type of artworks in addition to a great kitchen shop attached. My kids where ok in the place, but there are breakable stuff around so a word of caution.

When a person is walking through an unassuming local crafter collective, the expectation for what you will find is set to that level. So it was a pleasant surprise to find, after being nudged upstairs by the owner, a fine art gallery hanging some of the best of the local talent. We had no idea that this venue existed, but will plan on revisiting again when we have more time to enjoy it.

Proprietor Greg Worden has taken many years to assemble an unbelievably diverse and incredibly beautiful collection of hand-crafted objects of utility, fine art, and superb craftsmanship. The objects, most of which are for sale, and many of which are useful to varying degrees, are located on the ground floor behind the storefront. But the storefront windows also hint, by their content, what awaits the adventurous connoisseur upstairs. It is called 'Gallery II', and contains scores of paintings, sculpture, and truly unusual furniture, including one masterpiece, an African-carved "half table" that is a US National award-winner. Not to be missed by the discriminating collector!

If you are interested in expert, highly professional quality pieces of art and jewelry, this is the place for you. Not your run of the mill craft shop. Lovely displays and helpful staff compliment the beautiful crafts.

Vermont Artisan design contains a nicely organized and selected range of mostly Vermont craft and art products ranging from pottery and glass to fine art paintings and photography. Greg Worden works hard to have a range of taste, price and style. It's a great place to browse and an excellent place to shop for things that will live easily in your home.
