We went for a week in late June 2022. First the park was invested with Gypsy Moth caterpillars. They were everywhere and had stripped many if not all of the oak trees and were working on the maples. It was awful with them falling out of the trees, poop falling out of the trees and they were crawling everywhere. They don't want you to bring firewood in but there was no mention of these bugs and the strong potential of spreading them far and wide. We're VT'ers and don't have that in our area so were VERY careful when we left not to bring them home with us which was not easy. The park was okay. Park attendants not very knowledgeable but friendly enough. The bathroom facilities near the lean To's were very outdated, old and stained but smelled clean enough. The facilities by the dump station were a whole different story. Modern with all new tile and separate shower stalls. Also, a heads up that anywhere near the day use area will be noisy. If not the kids yelling and having fun then the guy mowing for hours on end. It was an okay experience, but we wouldn't go back

We had camped at the state park many a year in the 70's & 80's. Small state park with terrific campsite locations where you have plenty of room between sites. Sites vary from in the open to deeply wooded. Lean To'are available as well. Bathrooms are up to date. The beach facility is beautiful with plenty of slips for your boat.

We live close to Lake Bomoseen and the area is beautiful. It has been on our bucket list for a day trip for a short walk/hike. The day was beautiful. We arrived to the park in good spirits. The entrance attendant was sullen and reluctantly gave us park/trail maps when asked. The maps were useless. The attendant did not know where the trails started. We parked the car. I have taught “map and compass” courses; I have been on numerous search and rescue missions. I could not determine where the trails started. We stopped at the snack and information booth. The attendants were polite but only knew the trails were somewhere near the park entrance. We went in that direction and encountered a caretaker. He told us how to find the unmarked trailhead. We found the trail which was moderate in difficulty, without views and through a mediocre woodland. We did not try the “historical” trail. The same caretaker told us it was overgrown and with nothing to see.
The lakefront was nice. It is a nice place to swim; but the same as many others.

We were in the region to do hiking and we found the trails in the Green Mountain National Forest very beautiful and fun. We did 4 trails in 5 days from easy around Glen Lake to moderate around Silver Lake and somewhat harder and longer the Pinehill trail. All were well maintained and good signage.
