Great 2 lanced bridge. There’s a small damn/waterfall just a short distance to the left of the bridge. Follow the sounds of water and path made by others. Great stop.

What is it about a covered bridge that invites tourists? It’s not much more than a barn plopped over a river…and yet…and yet…it’s a charming holdover from a quaint past—a veritable symbol of old New England. We couldn’t resist driving through it a couple of times and stopping to take photos.

Although the address is listed as Pulp Mill Covered Bridge Road, we found it at Seymour Street. There is no parking. It is the oldest covered bridge in Vermont and one of only 7 "double barreled" covered bridges in the US. Traffic is quite busy.

This is a classic 2 lane New England covered bridge. It also has a pedestrian walkway. There is a dam just 50 yards downstream that makes it a beautiful area.

After touring the Morgan Horse Farm we encountered this architecture wonder. One of if not the oldest covered bridges in Vermont! It is beautiful and you will want to enjoy this bridge.

We enjoyed driving through Pulp Mill. Many of the bridges are not passable by car. It's fun to walk them, but it's also neat to get to drive through them as well.

I had an hour to spare so stopped off on my visit to the college. Initially the bridge is underwhelming as it was rebuilt in 2012, but once you explore the door bridge and also the riverside you find it is very interesting. There is a small parking lot which is for the local trail. I recommend taking a walk to the lake and also the weir. It was a sunny but cold fall day which made the fast moving water quite magical. Definitely remember to take a camera, you won’t be disappointed.

If you are in the Middlebury area, take the short drive to cross and explore the reconstructed Pulp Mill Covered Bridge. It's two bridges in one in that each lane functions as its own enclosed bridge - all over one roof. In addition to the two lanes, there is an exterior pedestrian walkway. When you're done exploring the bridge, there is an area to park just over the bridge where you can take a short walk down to the water to see the waterfalls - well worth the time. If you enjoy covered bridges and you're in the area, don't miss the Pulp Mill Bridge!

Each direction is a separate "enclosure", although it is really one bridge. Not much room to park, but you can pull off to one side. Interesting to see the mode of construction from inside - a waterfall visible thru the trees on the west end.
