Wow another disappointment trying to take the tram at Jay peak. First the sign down in the parking lot points up the hill saying “Lift Tickets”, so I go up a series of steps to get to three “Tickets” windows under the tram. The first one’s blocked up so I walk to the second, but it’s blocked up so I walk to the third, whereupon I’m greeted with a sign taped to the window saying “Tickets in Customer Service”. Okay so I start trying to find Customer Service. Ahh there it is… I walk around to the entrance and pull on a locked door. Nothing. So I walk up a long series of steps up to the tram, asking where I can get tickets. “Oh you need to go to General Provisions. “Where’s that?” I ask. “Down by the parking lot.” Great…

Awesome views of fall foliage and mountains during the ride up and from the mountain top. There are large rocks to climb on at the top, if you are sure-footed.

The tram was efficiently and safely operated, and the views were exceptional. Friendly people too. Well with the trip.

The journey to the top of Jay Peak Mtn on it's famous Tram is a fun and beautiful experience. On a clear day the view is very special and beautiful. A must activity when visiting Jay Peak.

It had been a very long time since I rode a large tram. What a wonderful way to end our 12/27/2018 day skiing Jay Peak!

The Jay Peak Aerial tramway is a very impressive thing to take a ride on for skiers, hikers and walkers alike. On a clear day you can see all the way to Montreal Quebec and Mount Washington NH. This is the only tram in Vermont so it’s definitely something to see. Enjoy!

My boyfriend and I went to Jay and HAD to go on this to get to the very top! This tramway was so neat and had a beautiful view from the top! I'm a little afraid of heights but, the view was so breathtaking that I forgot how high up we were! So much fun!

An all-ages activity, well-worth the trip! Side bonus: if you like geology, you will enjoy the wonderful display at the peak (quartz-sericite-chlorite-albite schist - early Cambrian age). Be sure and look for the 2 USGS markers..

We stayed at Jay Peak off-season and we were excited to take the tram to the top of the mountain with our kids and hike down. Unfortunately, the tram was down during our only full day there, so we didn't get the full mountain experience:(

While visiting northern Vermont, we rode the tram to the top of Jay Peak. It runs every 30 minutes on the hour/half hour, and costs about $10, which is really a bargain as compared to the Stowe gondola ride [which is $28]. The ride up takes about 7 minutes, and the scenery at the top is beautiful. There are a few chairs so you could just sit and enjoy, or decide on a path and do a little hike down one of the ski paths.
There is a snack bar, but am not sure if they are open during the summer. There are also some [cross country ski] paths below, so you could walk an fairly flat path, if you are not up for climbing the ups and downs on the mountain. This is something I would definitely suggest you DO while in the area!
