The water level was really low when we visited but would be good with the spring thaw. The falls were more of a trickle but it is a beautiful area with trees. It was a great wading area when we visited

The water level was low when we visited in mid-July, but the falls are lovely and cold, and the rocks are a great short climb. They are on the side of the road so great for a quick stop or a longer hang out.

The falls are just off Rte. 30 in Vermont near Brattleboro and can be seen from the street. There isn't much room to park. We just pulled over on the side of the road and in a few steps you are standing right at the falls. It is a long, winding, wide series of step-like falls situated on Stickney Brook Road. The whole area is hilly and forested. This is a very pretty, serene spot. There are no visitor facilities here, but it would be a nice place for a picnic.
Along the side of the falls you can see the stacked rocks and other elements of what once was a jelly mill located right next to the water. In the Spring, when the Vermont winter snow is melting the water in the falls rushes and tumbles along the winding bed of the brook. While I wouldn't consider this a destination in itself, if you are near Brattleboro it is definitely worth the short ride to see this attractive natural spot.
Just a little further north on Rte. 30 is an old wooden covered bridge, and to the south is an unusual metal bridge (appropriately named "The Iron Bridge") only a single car length wide that crosses the river.
