What an absolutely beautiful experience! The grounds are absolutely stunning and wonderfully maintained. The deluxe camping was beyond perfect and included everything we could want or need for our family and friends. The owners/staff are sweet, generous people who upon a cancelation allowed us a second tent to better accommodate our family AND gifted our son a souvenir he adores. The bonfire creativity pit is an absolute TREAT for making camp neighbors friends and fulfilling a primal itch you didn't know you needed scratched . I could go on and on but to sum it up we feel so loved, understood, and renewed after visiting such a special place that just gets IT. A true treasure I hope many experience. We will be returning annually!
Sidenote: if you have children this IS the place for worry free family fun. We felt so comfortable and safe watching our 2 year old roam and explore. It was the perfect wonderland for his little self 😍

Not a good tubing experience at all! They do not help you out of the water. There is no landing no safe way to exit and no staff to assist you in any way leaving the water. We had to hike through mud and high grass with 2 kids and 4 tubes. Completely unprofessional and irresponsible.

We booked a noon kayak trip with Great River Outfitters. We checked in early and saw part of The Path of Life Garden. Dan gave us an overview of what to expect along the five-mile excursion. He then fitted us for our PFD, and we got into a van with the kayaks in tow. Dan Drove us 5 miles upriver and helped us into the river and saw us off safely. We had the most beautiful, relaxing trip down the river. We saw a bald eagle and a few hawks along the way. We had a great time. When we reached the Great River Outfitters again, at the end or our trip, we walked around the rest of the path of life. The garden was impressive.

Great 5 mile kayak trip down the Connecticut River with beautiful views. We gathered at the meeting location which is when you end up at the end of your trip. They give you instructions, then loaded us on the bus to the drop off location upriver. We had to wait a bit for stragglers and since it had rained earlier in the morning, there was no dry space to sit on. On our return, we had to drag our kayak up a bit of an incline to the drop off location.
The gardens had lovely sculptures and was a pleasure to walk through!

Super Fun Day. Nicki and the gang were super nice and helpful beyond measure. Sad to hear they are no longer doing their winter excursions bc they looked so fun on the website and other reviews here. The Connecticut River is beautiful!!!

If you’re waiting for a table at the nearby brewery, or just want a nice easy walk by the impressive Connecticut River- go thru (or around) the Outfitters store and walk back through the Path of Life outdoor sculpture area. Pay the donation at the start! There is. a small box by the (very short) entrance tunnel. A very cool maze is one of the first feature -make sure you grab a map at the start and follow it through the “life” path. All sorts of interesting stone and other sculptures. Great view of the river also. Places to sit- also a nearby area to picnic I think. You won’t find anything like this for many miles around!! Takes an easy 30-45 min to walk through tho you can shorten if you want. Kids would like it too. (Except teens, who don’t like anything unless their peers are doing it!)

Kayaking here was AMAZING!!! - definitely coming back when I can. Staff were very nice and I overall enjoyed my time!

Absolutely the worst camping experience I have ever had. Our neighbors at the campsite were 4 very physically large men who came prepared to party -3 enormous coolers of beer and 2 large speakers. They talked loudly and played loud music until 4:15 am They drunkenly ran throughout the property all night long ringing the loud gongs and bells in the garden. They lit a huge bonfire at 1 am - so drink they were not in control of the situation whatsoever. When mentioned to the manager the next morning all he said was « oh yeah ,them. This is their fourth time here. You should have called me». WHAT?? REALLY?? He obviously knew who they were because they had behaved badly before. Maybe he should have banned them from the park for their behavior? But I guess he chose their money over providing an enjoyable safe experience for all the guests. And there is no staff on site and no posted phone number to call management. I paid 95 dollars to lose sleep and fear for my safety all night . I should’ve been refunded. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!

My family called ahead and made a reservations for river tubing/transportation and Great River Outfitters told us we could cancel up to 3 days ahead. Then my daughter wasn't feeling well, so we cancelled within the 3 day window. They would not refund us all of our money, only giving us back 50%, which was significant for our party. We were not told this information when we made the reservation~ If we had known we never would have made a reservation. We would not recommend using their services!

My sister and I took my 2 girls 11 and 14 on the river tubing trip. It was an excellent experience! They take you 5 miles up the Connecticut River to the drop off location, and you float back down. It took us about 4 1/2 hours to get to the end, though it seemed much shorter, when we checked the time we were shocked! The river is slow moving and shallow in a lot of spots which made it fun to splash around or push yourself along. They have cooler tubes that you can rent for to bring your snacks and drinks along, we pulled to the riverbank about halfway through and had lunch.
I would suggest wearing water shoes and sunscreen as you are in the direct sun for a few hours. Bring plenty of drinks and snacks.

We have a tubing trip booked and would like to bring a small cooler for drinks and snacks. Is there room on the tubes for a cooler? If not do you have a suggestion of some way to float the cooler?
It appears the kayak trip is relatively calm. Is that an accurate assessment? I have kayaking experience but I'm almost 70, so I'm being a little more careful than I used to. Should we assume we will get wet? Thanks!
