Spent a lovely hour visiting. The employees were wonderfully friendly and helpful. The entrance fee included the ability to cut 20 lavender stems per person. Supplies to cut the lavender were provided. The site included a Lavender Shop where lavender products were sold. Most items are not made on-site and available elsewhere. There was also a tent selling food including lavender cupcakes and lemonade. We tried the cupcakes. They were fresh and yummy.
Please be advised, if you are expecting a field (or fields) of scenic rows of blooming lavender, this is not the place. This is more a medium sized cutting garden. If you want to cut flowers for yourself at a modest price, this is a good option.

I visited the Lavender Oaks farm with my grand daughter and it was the most lovely of places with many things to experience. Of course the lavender! Rows and rows of it! Then there are the bunnies to feed and watch, lavender tea to drink, the store with many lovely lavender made items. Go and have a wonderfully lavender filled day.

A small farm that has a great gift shop filled with lavender products ranging in a wide price range. I got a few very affordable sachets. It’s a nice stop if you are in the area. Would I travel and go out of my way to visit? No! However if you are in the area stop in just to enjoy the fragrance

I'm always searching for close-by trips to Dr o with my mom. This was a short drive from Manassas. We went kind of late in the season but there was still plenty of Lavendar to be picked. Beautiful setting at the gazebo. There were also fresh herbs to be picked. Awesome if you have young children - play areas, etc. The classes for wreath making looked good. May try that next year.

We bought a Groupon and went the morning of July 4th. What a beautiful and sweet activity to enjoy together! Been married over 30 years and doing stuff like this keeps the memories building and the love going. Have never been to a lavender farm before and we thoroughly enjoyed picking a bouquet of flowers as well as soaking in the relaxing pace together. Loved it!!

We have been to Seven Oaks Lavender Farm several times over the last few years. They're reasonably priced for a family of five. My three boys loved watching the bunnies. They didn't want to leave and go get started with the lavender! They love to cut the lavender themselves. I feel like they're doing something different, fun, and educational while spending time together and outdoors. We will be back!

Spent two hours today with our unit of four--me, my 1.5 year old son, 4 year old daughter, and my mom. We were looking for things the kids would enjoy doing while visiting my mom and this came up. The play area is great! I'm not sure why they don't emphasize it more on their website. It is only open during lavender season (June 2-July 9 this year, but always somewhere around June)
For the kids:
Shed turned into a play house complete with front porch, play kitchen, mini table, dolls, strollers, etc.
Shaded large sandbox with construction trucks and buckets and shovels
Fenced in bunny area where you can reach over the fence to feed the bunnies.
Small tot playset with 2 slides and steering wheel
2 ride on rocking horses
mini corn hole and a few other games
Big shade tree with picnic tables and chairs
For everyone:
their front porch is open to the public--enjoy a glass of their lavender lemonade or tea with a lavender cookie and sit in a rocking chair in the shade
Find a shady spot all over the farm-they have chairs scattered everywhere
pick lavender--they teach you how, tell you about the three types and provide baskets and scissors. They also teach you wreath making.
Pick flowers or herbs-small collection of other plants
go in the shop--lots of lavender products plus other items
bring a picnic, get a lavender cookie and enjoy!
Admission was $6 for adults, $4 for ages 4 and up, and free for younger. Check groupon for deals as they have them sometimes.
It is stroller friendly and they have large portapotties (the handicap style).

It may sound strange to describe a farm as "too commercial", but I have been to this lavender farm for several years and most recently, it seems they are now more focused on finding any extra way to bring in some money (which I do understand in a way), versus preserve the attraction of the place to begin with. I used to enjoy bringing my girls to have a picnic lunch and pick the lavender. They have a cute little shop, too, which I have purchased some items in. However, each year, they add something and I suppose it isn't that there are more stations set up to buy something, but more the feel that they are pushing you to buy something. A couple years ago, my children were devastated when they were told that if the litter of kittens recently born didn't find homes that day, they would be euthanized the next. I had to tell my kids, we just couldn't take home another cat, as we already had two, but it doesn't seem this is something I should be going somewhere to enjoy an afternoon with my family and suddenly be caught off guard having to address. Generally, it can be nice to go here and pick lavender, but admittedly something that was becoming a family tradition each year has now been back-burnered.

The farm has a lovely shop specializing all things lavender, from food items to skin care products to paintings. It was possible to buy things at an affordable level like some of the soaps and cachets.
The really awesome product is a type of Lavender muscle rub. It is way more effective than the really stinky ones you get at Wal-Mart but it also has a pleasant smell. Feels very good on the skin and eases up your muscles all at once.
I was there when it was raining so I did not go to see any of the farm animals but the grounds were lovely.

I went here with some friends as we had always wanted to go and finally made it happen. The staff were all very friendly. It was fun to be able to pick lavender. They had sessions how to make things with it going on. They also had a little treat and drink stand along with the shop where you can buy a variety of different products. I would go back again next year.
