No need to go elsewhere

Great help in a great location. We came as a group of some 18 people. The staff did a good job fitting us all with our bikes, which were in very, very good condition and worked perfectly on the Creeper Train, which runs right next to their building. The shuttle took us to the start of the trail 17 miles away and made sure we were off well. Not sure every bike rental does this, but they equipped us with plenty of flat repair kits (which thankfully went unused) The shop also has a large variety of biking and hiking equipment and clothing. Will definitely use them when we come back here again.

They provided all we needed for a great day on the Virginia creeper Trail. Gift shop with cool shirts and souvenirs. Shuttle service.

These folks are one of the most organized businesses we've dealt with in a long while. Everybody working there was friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They make you feel like family and want to make sure you have a great time.

trail is fine for mountain biking, not a road bike trail.

I blew out a front tire on my trike. The shuttle service was contacted by other bikers returning. the shuttle service (Sundog Outfitter) drove to a parking lot close to our location and walked us out. Can't say enough about John and Daniel effort!!!!

EASY rental..
they have plenty of bikes and will ensure that you are comfortable with your bike..
you get a bike kit in case things go wrong.

I haven't biked for 40 years, and this was a great experience.

SUPER friendly staff. This is a business to support!

The staff was really friendly and knowledgeable. The staff will size the bike to your body. I recommend you rent their bikes. I seen three bikers with flats, from some of the rocks on the trail. However, they were all privately owned bikes and none had repair kits with them. Sundog provides a repair kit that fits on the bikes that have everything so you are not stranded. They also provide extra cushions gel sits for five dollars extra if you are worried about comfort. You can also add a basket to take picnic making and water with you if you would like. The ride from White Mountain down is awesome and very easy to complete. About 90% of the ride is downhill with the remaining on flat service.

Great experience!

Our scout troop used Sundog for our trip down the creeper trail. The reservation was easy. They were very efficient and friendly. The bikes were much better quality than we expected and in good condition. The shuttle driver was helpful and gave tips and pointed out landmarks on the way up the mountain.

We'll rent bikes here again

We rented bikes from Sundog for our family's first ride on the Virginia Creeper Trail. It was a busy day, but the staff was friendly and reasonably efficient, given the overwhelming number of people in the store. The bikes worked properly and the shuttle driver was friendly and full of stories during our drive up to the top of the mountain. Once we arrived, he got us unloaded quickly. They give every group a bike repair kit when they unload, but it would be more efficient if they did that at the shop. I also suggest a little more AC in the van. Overall a pleasant experience. We won't hesitate to use Sundog in the future.

They helped us when our shuttle (from a competitor) broke down!

A HUGE THANK YOU to the driver from Sundog who helped us! We rented bikes and had a shuttle from a different company and the shuttle van broke down about 1.5 miles from our destination (Whitetop). Shuttle drivers from 3 other companies drove right past us (8 adults and 5 kids) stranded on the side of the mountain road). The Sundog driver found a place to turn around, came back and helped us transfer all the bikes to his trailer and then took us the rest of the way.

This is the kind of company that deserves your business!!

Great time with a professional team at Sundog.

My wife and I took our 11 and 12 year old daughters yesterday. It was our first time down the creeper trail. We went from White Top to Damascus and had a blast. We were there early and Sundog took great care of us fitting each one of us with our bikes. The shuttle driver was a local man who was very knowledgeable about the area. I was very impressed when we got out of the van that a tool kit complete with a air pump and spare inner tube was in the kit. That is customer service 2.0. Just outside of Green Cove we encountered a rider with another outfitter that had a leaking tire. He swapped bikes at a small store, but it was good to know we had a sore tube just in case we needed it. Very nice and knowledgeable folks at Sundog, we will use them again. If you go early bring at least a long sleeve shirt for the first part of your trip off White Top, it was chilly.
