My wife and I enjoyed our experience with Creeper Trail and Bike Rental. The folks were friendly and helpful. They took time to make sure that our bikes were the correct size and in good working condition. Our driver, Charles, was knowledgeable and kept us entertained. Highly recommended.

I highly recommend this place. Gary was responsive to all of my pre-trip emails asking questions about our first visit. We arrived the morning of, and we were fitted for our bikes. They are good bikes in good condition. They gave us a repair kit for an emergency and a bottle of water. They explained the trail and gave us a map. We loaded the van and to the top we went! My only complaint was going up the mountain, the driver was quiet. It would have been nice had the driver told us a little about the trail, what to expect, the history, etc. They said nothing. The couple sitting beside of us in the van on the way up was saying the same thing. There was a sign asking for tips in the van. Had the driver talked some and given a little information, tips would have been given by at least us 4. That was the only disappointment. Aside from that, everything was great and we'd recommend and use this company again.

This is a review for Creeper trail bike rental - not for the trail itself which is awesome and beautiful.

At this rental shuttle service, the bikes are not maintained or sized for riders. Out of the 7 in our group, 6 of the bikes had major issues on the trail. chains falling off, loose wheels, brakes that barely work, gears that either don't shift or randomly shift while you are trying to pedal, no air in tires, etc... poor communication from employees made it a strange experience while trying to pay and choose a bike. If I'm paying to rent a bike, then I would expect the bike to work properly.

Regardless of the poor condition of the bike rental, we still had a blast on the trail - just chose a different rental service when you head to Damascus.

Great ride

We did the White Top to Damascus part of the ride. Had great fun, not much pedalling to start with, so cruising a lot. Magnificent scenery and nice to be close to the water. Bikes were great and the team were very helpful.
Would definitely do it again.

Absolutely stunning!!!

This is a must for all nature lovers. The ride is gorgeous. It is mostly downhill so you don't have to pedal very much. The temperature is cool because of the altitude. I will be 70 this October, and my husband and I do this ride at least once a year. Lots of bridges over the river with beautiful views. Stop and eat lunch along the way. We love it.

I arrived in town around 12:30 on a Monday. Two other bike shuttle places were closing up shop. Was happy to find this place open and busy. Shuttle to Whitetop from Damascus was around $26. Had my own bike. Friendly staff.

Creeper Trail Bike Rental- Could be better

We had a group of 7 people to rent bikes. They didn't really do much except take payment and load bikes on trailers for the shuttle to take us to top of trail...Whitetop Mtn? They did put new grips on the bike my husband chose, but after riding a little ways, he felt that the height wasn't right for him. One of the employees did 'try' to size my bike, but it wasn't comfortable because 1. the seat couldn't go down far enough and 2. the 'sissy' bar was too high. I'm short so maybe they didn't have bikes for my size. Would probably ask for a child's bike next time. No instructions as to helmets until we asked, not instructions about the trail...i.e. how long it would take, the number of miles....The shuttle took about 30 minutes and was very crowded. If you get car sick, ask to sit in the front passenger seat.

We started out at Whitetop and the staff is top notch. They have a nice selection of bikes and we will definitely use them again. First time on the trail and it is a blast.

THE GREATEST!!!

I am a local and when I get really stressed out I get on the trail. I usually get on in Damascus. Yesterday I had a friend to drive me to White Top so I could bike down. The colors are starting to turn, so beautiful. The pumpkin patch at Green Cove is so relaxing to look at. If you have a few hours get on the trail your mind and body will appreciate it very much. Fall is so BEAUTIFUL to experience on the trail.

Awesome trail and great scenery

We had a great day riding the Virginia Creeper Trail. The shop set us up with bikes, loaded the truck, drove us up the hill to the Mount Rogers lot and off we went. We got the full concierge service. I talked with the 72 year older owner who has been doing this since the 70s. A very nice guy with lots of info.

We rode the trail back to Damascus that was almost all in the shade with beautiful trees and scenery that followed the river. There were several placards explaining various things along the trail.

It was a fun and different kind of adventure that we would highly recommend to visitors.
