Found this family run orchard when visiting a winery nearby. Saw big crowds of people visiting the orchard and figured it was worth checking out. It was definitely worth checking out!!! They have a great market with home baked pies and desserts. They have a huge selection of local honey, jams, preserves, salsas, apple cider and other jarred items to go along with great apples. The mainstay of the business. You can walk in the orchards and pick your own apples or they have assorted already picked apples in large bids if you don't want to pick your own. There were a couple of apple varieties I was unfamiliar with and I asked one of the Stribling employees what those apples tasted like, he said why don't you try one and see if you like it! Well I thought that was excellent customer service and the apple was great tasting. After speaking to the employee about some of the other apple varieties, I realized that he was extremely knowledgeable and he took a personal interest in helping me and answering my questions. I asked if he was part of the Stribling family and he said he was. I love supporting family businesses and I love the fact that the owners work there and care about their customers. He was restocking apple cider and cleaning up when I approached him to ask for help. My kids and the whole family had a great time at Stribling Orchard. We can't wait to go back and get more apples and cider.

Place was a madhouse. Horrible parking crowds and longlines. Not what we expected and will not go back.

Our family had a fantastic day at Stribling’s Orchard. The apples are color coded, they tell you the ripe apples and you pick them. My 13 year old daughter and her best friend loved using the apple picking extenders for the high apples. We picked a large bag full, it’s a good idea to bring your own over the shoulder bags for carrying the apples around.
We also enjoyed apple cider and apple sticks from inside the store.
We’ve made an apple braid, apple sauce and an apple dip so far, the apples are delicious. We will definitely go back next year!

Wonderful family friendly orchard. Family owned. Super helpful staff. Pick your own peaches July and apples in the fall. Easy map for drive through the orchard. The more you pick, the less you pay per peck. Creates a great memory for little ones!! Bring a picnic!!

We stopped in here on our way to Front Royal and the people were super nice. This was our first time picking apples and it was a fun adventure. They have a lot of apples and we even picked up some fresh apple cider. Would definitely recommend checking it out!

Went for a drive to country to get local apples for great price and was not disappointed. End of season but were able to plenty selection in pre-picked. Trees were pretty bare...no worries- enjoyed delicious apple turnover.

Stribling Orchard is within easy reach of the Washington suburbs and well worth a visit. Visit on an afternoon and pick a variety of apples to enjoy at home. Purchase a lovely and freshly baked pie, or select a variety of jams. You will like everything and so will your children. Take an extra minute to view the log house and well tended orchard. You will enjoy a lovely time!

While driving in northern Virginia, we stumbled upon a delightful family owned apple orchard that was wonderful. The parking was easy and there were plenty of already picked apples to purchase or you could pick your own. The buildings on site dated back to the 1790s and 1800s and the staff was friendly and helpful. The day we were there (end of Sept. on a Saturday) there was a live band playing oldies and burgers/hot dogs being grilled fresh to order. We bought fresh pumpkins as well as apples. The apples were crisp and delicious. We plan on visiting Stribling Orchard again next year. We definitly recommend this orchard.

I remember every year when my family went to Stribling to pick apples as a child in the 60s and 70s. What a wonderful experience and such a pretty place. A wonderful place to take children and less than 30 minutes from Manassas. I went back a couple of years ago with a friend when they were having a nice cookout. We had hamburgers from the grill.

If there is a heaven for apples, you will find it on a crisp Autumn day at Stribling Orchard. Stribling offers a peaceful oasis amid the the corn-syrupy trappings and wallet-draining makeshift attractions of most fall attractions. If it's apples you want, it's apples everywhere! Macintosh, Red and Gold Delicious, Jonathan, Stayman, Granny Smith, Rome, and York comprise the bulk of this charming mountainside orchard. Although they provide plastic bags with shoestring closure, your time will be MUCH more enjoyable carrying your apples in a light fabric bag with long handles to tug onto your shoulder. Also, don't forget your bottled water and wipes, as the picking gets sticky! Come later in the afternoon, to avoid morning dew and mud as much as possible. Pick first, then explore. It will take less than an hour to fill a bushel, but you will want to wander around and wish the golden sun would stay in place forever. Unfortunately, even if it did, you would still need to leave at 5:00 pm, when the orchard closes. For planning purposes, there are picnic tables and very clean portable potties nearby. Bring your camera, and make sure your phone is charged. It would be a huge mistake not to budget for the oh-so refreshing FRESH cider that literally embodies the whole of autumn! Other temptations include fresh apple pies (they literally flew off the counter when we were there), apple danish, turnovers, and shelves replete with such yummies as freshly made hot sauces, butters, jams, and my favorite-Stribling BBQ sauce! All from apples. All jarred goods mentioned here are gluten, dairy and corn-syrup free!!!!! Another helpful tidbit is to go look at all the apples in the bins near the outdoor check-out BEFORE picking. Anyone who cares at least a little about the different kinds of apples can learn to differentiate between the varieties just by viewing and handling these apples. We learned that the Golden Delicious can be identified by its "freckles". Rome Beauty are actually a deep rosy-red, like the cheek of a china doll. It actually helped tremendously when we were uncertain about the kind of apple tree we were picking from, though many are clearly marked with paint on the trunk. It was a gorgeous day and we had a heavenly time!
