HAMPTON COLONIAL DOWNS

100% disabled veteran here. Likes to get out and enjoy playing the slots. I live in Chesapeake and visit Colonial Downs in Hampton. However noticed in the last 6 months the machines pay maybe 70%, can't get a free spin ( no matter what denomination bet your utilizing) . Took $500.00 to hopefully to enjoy a few hours of relaxation and play and win something. My cash flow dwindling by the minute. I usually bet $2.40 to max bet on slots and this Hampton Rosie's casino ate up my entire cash flow in 45 minutes. This is absolutely atrocious. I tried with my veterans players card and without. Usually will win a small amount " without my players card being utilized ". Does the Management track and pick who wins as the patron is using their Players Card?" Seems like this in my eyes. How can a person blow through $500.00 playing slots in 45 minutes. I have better odds plaing scratch off lottery tickets. ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT RETURN TO THIS PARTICULAR CASINO. I'd rather travel 100 miles if I know the establishment has fair playing atmosphere. Owner/ Manager of this facility, if you continue with being " Greedy and keep your machines from paying out customers will go somewhere else".

A Really Nice Horse Track

We are a family that is enjoys horse racing and we travel the country looking for new tracks. We heard about Colonial Downs and decided to go and check it out. Their season is a very short 7 weeks. They only race Monday – Wednesday so it’s very difficult to get the time off work. We were there on a Monday and shocked to see the place was packed with horse racing lovers. There were plenty of staff working. They have plenty of free seating on the ground. They charge to sit up in the nice and shaded grandstands. That was a first for us to see that, but we decided to pay for our seats. We don’t intend to come back so we splurged. There is an airconditioned tent with a trailer with bathrooms. This track is attached to a casino and the food in the casino was pretty good. The fries are a must try! There are also food trucks outside. We totally enjoyed our visit and would highly recommend Colonial Downs to our horse racing friends.

All the employees at the New Kent location are super helpful and friendly. I want to give a special Shout Out to the best bar staff Rachel, Cade, Chris, and Erik. They are awesome!!

My cousin took me to this destination because I enjoy playing slots! I did register to obtain a Player's Card and the encounter with the host was pleasing and pleasant. There was no added benefit of free play on the card but an opportunity would be mailed. I shared that that was a back breaker for me because of where I lived and it would not be cost effective for me to return for free slot play of $10.00!

We didn't eat there; just walked and played slots (win some & loose a lot)!! Still it was a lot of fun!

The refurbished and reopened Colonial Downs thoroughbred racetrack is first class all the way. Both the turf and dirt tracks are in excellent condition and viewing races from the stands is clear and unimpeded. It is a delightful experience.

I have visited Rosie's in Hampton, New Kent and Richmond and New Kent is by far my absolute favorite because of the awesome service I receive from the employees. They are always smiling and happy, they take the time to get to know you. I ordered a beer in the morning and every time I visited the bar after, Jennifer had my beer waiting. She remembered my face and what I was drinking and that is exceptional service! I love the small town feel of Rosie's in New Kent. All of the staff in the kitchen go above and beyond for you, from the cook making your food to the person serving it to you, forgot your ketchup, they'll get it for you! They truly care about guest experience in New Kent and for that I will continue to visit that location. So many places lack this customer service and that is truly what makes our experience. So thank you New Kent!

I went into Colonial Downs in Richmond Va on Midlothian Tpke. I was getting hungry so I went in to the cafe and there was this very nice lady in there, here name was Bosha, I was having trouble deciding on what to eat and she was very helpful in helping me decide what to get. She was very pleasant there should be more people like her in this world!!!

We were very pleased with each course of our meal at Rosie’s 1609!
The quality freshness taste and presentation of each dish was outstanding!

But what made the experience most enjoyable was our server, Amanda. She was personable knowledgeable attentive and accommodating! Descent food is not hard to find but good service is many times.. I’m sure I’m not alone when I say great service always makes the meal taste better!

Thanks for making our date night memorable...!

I am a regular visitor at Rosie's. I come in a few times a week and Jennifer the bartender always knows exactly how I like my coffee and sometimes has it waiting for me when I walk in the door. She always cheers me on when I'm playing the games and is a delight to be around.
