... and possibly also what makes a good wine yard owner, wine tour organizer and wine guide.
We booked the VIP tour and was picked up at our hotel at an agreed time in a comfortable van. After the major roads it was a beautiful tour through narrow lanes with fields with fruit trees, olive trees and wine at the sides until we arrived at the "Finca", which in this case was a boutique winery, set in a stunning location on top of a hill.
While red kites circled high above the first tasting was a couple of white wines along with some tapas. Then excellent guidance of the wine yards and the interesting old house in which wine has been produced by the same family for several generations. All our questions was knowledgeable and patiently answered.
We chose to sit in the semi-shade under the date palm with a beautiful view in front of us for the final wine tasting accompanied by a full set of real Mallorquin tapas.
The wines tested were very good over all and most of them from the Can Pizà Winery (i.e. the very place we were visiting).
With all things included it was well worth it's price and turned out to be the best experience of our Mallorca visit. Highly recommended!

This tour appears to be quite expensive but not when you consider what you get for your money. You are collected for private transfer to the vineyard where you are told all about how the wine is made while tasting 2 different white wines accompanied by snacks. Paul was extremely knowledgeable and it was wonderful to sit amongst the vines that produced the wine you we’re drinking. Then you are transferred to the home of the vineyard owner where the wine is produced and given a tour of the beautiful Mallorcan home and more information about the process from the very charming , Miriam. Finally, you get to sit below the trees overlooking the bay of Palma where you try a further five wines and eat delicious home made tapas. The portions are generous and you could have as much wine as you liked. Everything was relaxed and unhurried. The best wine tour we have been on. Thank you to Miriam and the team for a fantastic day out. Highly recommended.

Miriam versteht etwas von Wein, mag außergewöhnliche Tropfen, ab vom Mainstream, kann selber Wein herstellen, arbeitet bei Ribas einer der besten Weingüter Mallorcas mit und hat auch noch zusätzlich Ahnung von gutem Essen. Eine Mischung, die zu wunderbaren Stunden in Ihrer Gastfreundschaft verhilft. Wer offen ist für eine wunderbare Erfahrung, bekommt ein unvergessliches Erlebnis von Mallorca und dem besonderen Wein der Insel. Es ist ein Vergnügen und eine Ehre zu Gast bei ihr zu sein. Und egal ob sie Lamm oder Tapas serviert es ist wunderbar und wirklich ein Erlebnis. Wir buchen immer wieder bei ihr und lieben das Ambiente und vor allem Miriam und ihre Weinauswahl sehr!

Anlässlich des Geburtstages meines Mannes habe ich die VIP-Tour mit Helikopterflug gebucht - Es war ein Traum!
Miriam und Julian sind einfach hervorragende Gastgeber!
Julian holte uns daheim ab und brachte uns direkt in den Weinberg zum Rundflug über das Tramuntana.
Im Anschluss empfing uns Miriam mit einer Wein- und Tapasverkostung im Weinberg.
Danach ging es zur Bodega, wo wir (mit fantastischem Blick auf die Bucht von Palma) nicht nur kulinarisch verwöhnt wurden, sondern auch eine exklusive Führung mit vielen Informationen zur Weinherstellung erhielten.
Es war von der Kommunikation vorab, über den Transfer, den Rundflug bis hin zur Weinverkostung, der Bodega und den kulinarischen Highlights alles bestens geplant und vorbereitet.
Authentisch, privat, professionell - sehr, sehr gerne wieder und wärmstens zu empfehlen.

This was the highlight of our Majorcan holiday. Miriam and Julian were excellent hosts, the tapas was the best we had all week and the wines were great (even the blue one!). The setting in the garden was beautiful. We went for the VIP Finca Experience which was quite pricey but worth every cent. If we return to Mallorca we would definitely book this again.

Wow. What a fantastic way to spend an evening. We did the VIP Finca Experience which was a private experience for just the two of us. This is decidedly not mass-market wine tourism where you are bussed from one vineyard to the other. This is a much more personalised experience.
What a wonderful way to spend an evening. Miriam who is the sommelier and your guide for the evening is a wonder.
Due to Covid, the itinerary was changed from what was published on the website. We did not visit the other winery and instead spent all of our time at Can Piza. However, this did not detract from the experience even slightly. Miriam does an excellent job of making you feel very welcome in what is their home and as an added bonus, they also have some wonderful dogs who will no doubt visit you during your visit.
We started our evening at a table next to one some of the fields of vines and had a truly spectacular view of the Serra de Tramuntana. There we tasted our first wines of the evening before moving onto a tour of the house and winemaking facilities before heading back into the garden where we had dinner, more wine and some beautiful views over Palma.
The wines served (8 in all) were all small production wines which are not for the export market and so were all new to us. We enjoyed almost all of them and they were all at least interesting to try. Miriam is also a fountain of knowledge about these things. I would also note that there is no penny-pinching here. Despite being served 8 wines, we were served plenty of each - you will not be left thirsty. However, one advantage of these small production wines is that a minimum amount of sulfites is used which meant that there was no headache in the morning.
The food was also outstanding and again, plentiful. All homemade Mallorquin food, it was delicious and varied.
The fields of vines, the rustic farmhouse, the beautiful gardens with the unbeatable views, the food and the wine make for a vision of a bucolic ideal. If you have ever had the fantasy of quitting your job and buying a little farm or vineyard in the Mediterranean and living the good life, this lets you experience that fantasy for an evening.
Overall, absolutely brilliant and was one of the highlights of our trip to Mallorca. Whilst this was an expensive evening, it was definitely worth every single penny (or cent, as it were). Highly recommended.

We had the absolute best day with Miriam and Julian. They welcome you as if you’re family and are fantastic conversationalists. It is great to see what they’re doing at their estate and the passion they have for keeping with tradition. I will say I thought at first- well the price is a little steep. But then I read all the reviews and decided to give a go. So glad we did. The food and the wine (and the dogs and scenery) were all faultless.

We can just agree with other reviewers. This was a wonderful tour with a lot of wine... :-) We had a full meal of tapas and they were delicious. Also, we learned a lot about making wine.

Amazing hosts, Julian and Miriam are very knowledgeable people and they managed to squeeze us in despite the very busy schedule they had. Overall an amazing time and would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Mallorca 10/10!

Miriam, die Sommeliere, spricht Deutsch, Englisch und Spanisch. Ich weiss, dass die Touren auch im Augenblick stattfinden. Das Winetasting findet dann je nach Wetter eben indoor statt.

Hi, I'd love to surprise my parents by taking them on this tour whilst we're out there. I was just wondering, is the tour suitable for someone in a wheelchair. They can move on/off transport (so would be able to get on the little train) but are the vineyards themselves wheelchair friendly?

Hi, there is only one set of stairs on the tour. I don't think you'd get a wheelchair up there.
Maybe do the same as we did and have a private tour rather than the train. That way I'm sure they'd tailor the tour to suit. Paul our guide was very helpful and spoke perfect English. We did the tour in his mimi bus rather than the train.

Just like other responders we booked in advance through the internet. There is a maximum number that can be accommodated on tours so prior booking is essential , and you pay at the end of the tour. We enjoyed it so much that we went on the tour in both 2015 and 2016.
