First time for our whole family on a open top bus to the needles needless to say we all had a fabulous time. Well done southern vectis and very reasonably price and the bus ticket last 24 hrs

I am a regular visitor to the isle of wight I always use the buses on the island as they are frequent and very reasonable priced fairs and some of the routes are very scenic they operate special services during the summer months such as the open top breezer services . shanklin shuttle and and Island coaster service I paid around £16 for 48 hours unlimited travel including the open top services via the app that is also very handy for route planning

I wanted to have an occasional rest from driving during our 3 week holiday on the Isle of Wight so we pre-booked "Key" cards online from Southern Vectis which were promptly received and activated. We had a number of ticketing options and decided on the 5 day ticket bundle each and loaded these onto our cards all in cost being £34.50 each; these tickets cover all routes for a complete day and all you do is tap the card on the entry machine and the nothing more as the machine registers you and any further bus journeys that day with a tap of the card. the tickets are valid for 2 years as well!
The network is quite comprehensive and frequent and most amazingly punctual, thanks in no small part to their great drivers, who we saw helping disabled people onto buses and always with a cheerful demeanour and readily giving visitors advice and information, in addition to the audio-visual system on the bus giving notice of the next stop.
The buses are kept in tip-top condition and are very clean and comfortable; we were so impressed and highly recommend them

I genuinely enjoy riding the bus here on the Island... and as a pensioner who moved here not long ago.. I get to travel for free after 9:30 a.m. However, my main complaint is the lack of information and communication which is apparent to me... a member of the public, when there are issues (like road closures or cancelled service). The public is regularly left stranded, with NO-ONE to speak to.. and indeed the drivers actually saying they KNOW NOTHING. This is really a bad image for any and all tourists coming to the Island. Vectis' services are after all a monopoly....with the only alternate options being high-priced taxis, when you do not have a car. I was recently told after being stuck in Ryde due to and incident that caused buses to be cancelled or delayed....that drivers have to communicate through their own phones to find out what is happening, and are often not informed when there are sudden disruptions to service. I find it hard to believe in this day and age, that the Drivers in the "field" who are the "face" of the service, and are left to deal with upset commuters ... with no information or updates to offer them. I felt sorry for the Drivers....because there were a lot of unhappy people, pretty much left stranded. There had been someone in the office at Ryde.. but she left without comment or "farewell!" There was no way to find out what had happened, how long it was going to take or what kind of expectations should we (the people left stranded) have. It was very frustrating... not so much the wait, as the flagrant disregard and disrespect for the "customer" and their time.

Fares are reasonably priced. Majority of drivers are friendly, polite and upbeat and give good customer service and information. Buses run pretty much to time and good frequent service on most routes. Routes less frequent still tend to run on time. Drivers do a brilliant job, considering most roads outside of Newport and Ryde are not designed for Double Decker buses but, the Buses are much needed. Island Railways were all closed except for one, end of the 1960s so, Southern Vectis Buses are much needed and the Drivers should be appreciated more.

Can't fault southern vectis.We had a 2 day rover ticket for £16 each and it was very much worth it.We basically travelld from east to west throughout our stay,and was very impressed with the reliability and standard of buses used.Well done southern Vectis

I nearly dropped my wallet when i found out how much it would cost to travel around 10 minutes down the road, almost 2 weeks on and i am still convinced it was a mistake!

Shouldn't be a bus company. Yes it's an island of high tourism so the company will exploit this tenfold like nothing I've ever seen.. deliberately sell you "transfer tickets" to a destination for £3.50 which sound amazing value so you walk round Newport Town shops with your vulnerable 83 year old aunt who sadly doesn't get free travel for her companion and can't remotely walk quickly naturally but you find getting your second bus the ticket is only valid for one hour...forcing you to buy multiple £3.50 journeys for one day. This company don't tell you all the rules before sale for their most vulnerable customers but also don't give any benefit of doubt and let people on because like the Scottish they're tight on this island and call outsiders "overners" in their common racial jip that my father notices and hates.

There isn't much love when you visit the isle of wight unless people like southern vectis are grabbing your cash in the fistfuls but they'll be like "go green...take the bus ditch the car...more like all change and all your change. Yes exactly that because its £10 per day to get a day pass because this company rudely jibe and scoff we don't sell returns maybe you should be getting a taxi instead...

So a taxi is cheaper Mr bus driver? Hope so but doubt it but you don't respect vulnerable customers enough or those caring for them besides double triple billing for journeys so local it's barbaric.. like Newport bus station to the Asda another £3.50. Asshats.

I've never seen this treatment from any other bus company In the country not even citylink Scotland. So why is it acceptable from you? It must sting your locals and islanders rather badly.

You need a better system for everyone and respect the fact without us you wouldn't even have a business so why abuse us...you just make 3 people this Christmas feel like we never want to come back to the island and if I and My dad do it'll likely be by bike...heck I'd rather ride a tandem than be in his situation with your bus fares lucky for me I have a pass. But the thought of your fares plus his experience at the lakes Rookley with its fake reviews makes the experience the worst he's ever had..

Don't expect us to be proud of you as a firm we are not..

An excellent service and 7 day ticket was excellent value. Their Ap was first class and made journey planning very easy thus enhancing our out of season break. Please keep up this excellent service.

Bailey was an amazing driver looked after us making sure we were comfortable on the bus and got home safely. He's a exceptional member of staff and worth a praise.
