This place is amazing! If you love vinyl and you're visiting Bainbridge Island then you MUST stop by. I purchased a pristine copy of We're Only In It For The Money, pressed, in 68, by Deutsche Grammophon. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and the shop is particularly well organized.

Tucked away off the main street is this hidden gem full of treasures. The atmosphere and selection is amazing. Classics on vinyl and awesome books. You can just browse forever and listen to the great records while you go back in time and maybe find a great deal on a classic album like I did.

I love the atmosphere, selection, and prices at Backstreet Beat. I hadn't heard of it until I was walking by last week and wandered in. The experience started with a surprisingly good selection of $1 classical vinyl albums. Kicking myself now that I didn't buy more of those. Then I found oddities inside that I have at home, but have never seen anywhere else. Maybe just luck, but given the organization and attention to detail, I suspect my next visit will again be filled with fun surprises amongst the albums. Didn't get to the books because had to catch the ferry, but next time! I'd planned to make some vinyl purchases at shops in Ballard but those visits were a bust compared with this gem. Looking forward to meeting the owner next time; he was out playing dominoes so his helpful sweetheart was watching the shop.

I was excited when I saw their sign on the main drag as they promised cheap LPs and used books. Sadly they are not open on Mondays so I missed out on a place that would have had my business without issue.

A triple whammy of goodness. Not only vintage vinyl and used books, but every time you buy a used book or record (sustainable) at fab prices you're supporting a local business (buying local y'all!). It's a win-win-win!
It's hidden in plain sight, across from T&C and near the post office in the brick building. Raymond always has something fabulous on the turntable. And (bonus!) he is a world-class photographer who occasionally has his work on display. Stop in for a chat, culture and good deals.
