Excellent, convenient kayak rental from Yelvik's beach. Cute farm animals (pigs and a baby cow) on the 100 yard private road to the beach. Hard working kayak rental person (Liz) was very nice and very helpful about safety and where to go and not go. Good equipment, life vests included. Saw lots of harbor seals during a 90-minute paddle, including youngsters that came right up to our kayaks.

The team was super accommodating. My son wanted to experience crabbing and we like to kayak, so their crabbing and kayak tour was perfect, but we found it last minute. We were able to call and still get in the next day and got to experience cooking fresh crab on the beach. And the kayaking in the Hood Canal is amazing - harbor seals, eagles, sea stars, urchins, all fantastic. Highly recommend.

My husband and I and two friends took a Saturday afternoon class at Hood Canal Adventures called "Foraged Food Cooking Class - Stinging Nettle Pesto." It was taught by their foraged food chef, Nancy Smith, with Andrea as an assistant and we all loved it. You meet at their storefront, check in, make introductions, and drive a short distance to a place where they show you how to safely harvest stinging nettle in the wild. (If you don't bring sturdy enough gloves, they provide some.) After that you return to the kitchen next to the storefront and they demonstrate how to make a pesto with the stinging nettle leaves. At the end you get to take home a small jar or two. I loved Nancy's teaching style and everyone's sense of humor. I plan on signing up for more of these classes in the future. I would say that the class is probably less targeted to kids, since there is a fair amount of observing instead of hands-on participation -- which absolutely was NOT a problem for me.
Christina, the owner of Hood Canal Adventures, also joined the class and she had a really great suggestion to visit a waterfall up the road. Visiting the waterfall on the way out was the perfect end to the day and I'm so glad she shared that info with us.

Christina took 5 of us on the Dosewallips kayak tour. It was a ton of fun. We saw eagles, birds, and seals. She had a ton of information about the local wildlife and helped the slower kayakers (that would be me) keep a comfortable pace. I would totally do this tour again.

Christina took our group of 6 out for the 2 hour tour. She was fun and informative and shared lots of information about the area. We are able to see lots of seals swimming, bald eagles and a herd of elk. We even got to see a salmon swimming up the creek. We had such a good time. i would recommend Kayak Brinnon to anyone.

We came here as a large group and really enjoyed the trip. The kayaks are in great shape and the routes the guide recommends are quite scenic. We saw bald eagles, seals and herons on are trip. The prices are reasonable and this was the most fun we had while at camping at Dosewallips state park. This is just a short trip from the state park.

We thoroughly enjoyed the time with Christina. We went crabbing (left with 1 crab...don't forget to get your permit), kayaking, saw seals, bald eagles, starfish, sea anenomeas, shucked oysters, and had an overall fantastic time. we were on the water for a few hours with a nice break for lunch and swimming. Some of us paddled hard while others relaxed.

We just completed a delightful trip in the Hood Canal with Christina. She is extremely knowledgable and fun to be with.
We saw bald eagles and seals with baby pups. We were in a tandem kayak and had many photo ops. We highly recommend Kayak Brinnon for your next adventure.
