A beautiful area worthy of exploration. There were really great wineries to explore and so much to do on the lake. A great "off the beaten path" place to go visit.

This was our first time to Chelan Washington. A beautiful valley with beautiful views in a weather protected area.

We travelled in Aug 2021 thought we have been few times before but this time was in summers and we loved doing water fun filled activities like para sailing, jet ski, renting pontoon etc. It was fantastic

Amazing place to visit, gorgeous scenery, northern part of lake, accessible y ferry / trails only- untouched by human motor traffic!

How is it that I have lived in Seattle for 16 years and never been to Chelan? What a spectacular place! Beautiful lake and tons to do. Highly recommend!

We wanted to get away for a weekend for our 3rd anniversary without our kids, especially with how much COVID had been keeping us in the house the past 6+ months. We wanted something on the water and since neither of us had been to Lake Chelan but we've heard so many great things about it, we booked a hotel here and made the trip over from Seattle.
The lake is pretty large and when we went out kayaking, it was a beautiful day but hardly any people were out on it (probably because it was end of September, a little breezy and the water I'm sure was cold).
I didn't see too many places for the public to access the lake, though I'm sure they're around there somewhere. Looking at Google Maps, it appears the further north you go up the lake, the less houses and such there are.

Our lodging was lakefront and it was great. There were plentiful recreation facilities along the lake and the hotel where we stayed had a pool, a hot tub, and a nice sandy beach.

It is a long skinny lake with few stands of trees but the lake is very pretty. There are plenty of places to picnic, launch a boat or rent jet skis. I think it would be a great weekend for a family with kids.

I and my wife want to visit here but we don't have a car (don't have a license right now). I see that there is a bus from Seattle to Lake Chelan/Wenatchee. Assuming we take that, how do I move around when I get there? Is having a car absolutely necessary here?

Check on local bus service. I think they probably haven’t one. Maybe Uber or local taxi service also available. You can also use boating for hire to see the lake from the water.

There is a place in Fall City, it’s the river that flows from Snoqualmie Falls. But in Leavenworth I only knew of companies that did floating. Lake Chelan I never saw advertisements for floating down river. Sorry I couldn’t be of much help.

Is the lake warm enough to swim in? Also, is it a good lake for swimming or is it more of a motor-boat and jet-ski lake?
