Nice ship for cruising--comfortable seats, good views from the windows, put some effort into contacting local resources to find whales. Not the best ship for whale watching--deck space is limited and indoor seating has ~30% of seats with no window access. Kids are welcome--good if you want to bring kids, disruptive if others bring young kids who aren't into the experience with no attempts at a quiet/calm environment. Gave some lip service to conservation efforts, but blew off questions about the impact of boats on wildlife, next time we're in Seattle we will look for a smaller, more local company.

Excellent! Highly recommend this tour. We saw 2 pods of Orcas and a Humpback Whale named Two Spot. They allowed plenty of time to photograph the whales and Two Spot kept playing, spouting and circling the boat. Crew was great! Boat is clean and new. Bathrooms are normally small, cramped and smelly but this one is not. The Blueberry Buckel is yummy and it was a fantastic experience. I was afraid of getting sea sick but had no issues at all, very stable.

We had a fantastic cruise with Pugent Sound Express. We were lucky enough to see several humpback whales. The highlight was seeing orcas and a mum teaching her baby to hunt. They caught porpoise right in front of us. The captain and staff were all extremely helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. We travelled from Australia and were hoping to see Orcas. We could not have been happier.

We have a great time on our tour. We were fortunate to see several Orcas, harbor Seals, a Puffin, and a Humpback. As a bonus we were passed by an air craft carrier.
The tour guides and captain were excellent and passionate. The food onboard was also good.
It was chilly (early Sept), but that didn't change the experience.
Well done Puget Sound Express!

We had the best time on the Puget Sound Express. We saw several types of whales, seals, sea lions, porpoises, and bald eagles. The captain, naturalist, and crew were all great. We really enjoyed how excited they all got us about seeing wildlife. The galley onboard served yummy hot drinks, delicious blueberry buckle, and had lots of nice merchandise for sale. It was chillier than we expected while out on the water so we bought some sweatshirts to keep us warm.

This was an outstanding trip. The staff on board were very interesting and knowledgeable. We were lucky to have a perfect day, clear weather and very calm sea. We followed a pod of Orcas for a long time as they hunted near the shore. The trip is long, 5 hrs but interesting. I would not suggest it for young children as it is long and there isn't much for little ones to do while watching for wildlife.

This was absolutely a tremendous experience. The naturalist, captain, and staff were all great. The boat was smooth and well appointed. The blueberry buckle and lunch was great as well. We saw 11 orcas and one grey whale which was the highlight for me. One of the highlights from a weeklong trip to Washington!

We absolutely loved this! We saw lots of humpback whales, seals, and sea lions. The boat was clean and spacious and there’s lots of tiered viewing areas so you aren’t blocked. The crew were friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend this!

Amazing trip. The boat was fast, clean and very comfortable and stable as it cruised high speed. It found Orcas when none of the other boats saw any. Thanks it get to cross off seeing Orcas in the wild off my bucket list!

What should we expect to see the first week of May, leaving from Port Angeles? Is it really too early to see a bunch of whales. I have been on other trips before, one we saw a group feeding. I really am not interested if only 1 or 2 whales can be seen at a distance.

Yes. And be sure to bring extra layers of clothing ......with the wind and the speed of the boat on the sound, it can get quite chilly......even on a summer day.

I have a four year old, two year old, & 7 month old. Would this tour be appropriate to take them in mid July or are they too young?

We were there the beginning of September. I would think if they’re offering the tour it’s because the whales are there. You could email or call Puget Sound and ask to be sure the were very nice. The tour is also guaranteed!

I am looking to book a trip at the end of July during the week. what are the chances that we will we Orcas?

As everyone else says, it's the right season for seeing Orcas so your odds are good. We learned that all of the different companies communicate with each other. It sounds like they each start off in a different spot, and once one boat has seen orcas they radio the others to say where. So that's both good and bad - good because you're pretty much guaranteed to see something, but bad because when you do there are often several other boats around.

I don't think so, as that's a name I don't recognize. It was a marina near the ferry and next to a toddler park and restaurants. You should call them for specifics.

Definitely yes! We frequently have young kids out on our boats & they seem to really enjoy it.
