This park is only a five minute drive from the Coulee Dam. It provides an amazing view of the entire Coulee Dam. There are lots of birds and other wildlife.

On our first visit to the area, the visitor center gave us directions to this great lookout. It has an incredible view from the side of the hill. Looking down on the river below, across to the town, then to the dam and finally the lake behind . On our second visit at the end of summer we brought take out food. There are no picnic tables. We just sat at the edge of the covered area and dangled our legs over the side as we ate our lunch and enjoyed the incredible view. There is a little outhouse also.
Both our visits were in the middle of the day, but I can imagine sunrise would be awesome. Also a great place to watch the light show at the dam. Worth the few minute drive off the main highway.

This was a return trip. This vantage point is great for photo taking of the dam and area.
This our third visit and hoped to get into the dam--weather was not good for first two visits and we only saw the Visitor Center.

Hubs has always wanted to go here, which was an item on his "bucket list". So glad we detoured before our flight the next day coming from Lake Chelan on the way back to Spokane. Very dramatic! Free visit in the visitor center, which was very interesting and a wealth of history information. Don't forget to go upstairs to watch a variety of short films on the history of the massive construction of the dam. Also has several really pretty picnic areas down below near the base of the dam, though it was raining when we were there, still enjoyed. A must see!

From this location the view is simply amazing. If you love panoramic views this is the spot for you. I think the perfect time to be taking photos of the dam right at sunset as you capture the lights of the dam and the surrounding town while still having plenty of light from the sun. You can drive to the location or hike the trail up to the top from the start of Candy trail.

The dam is very, very, VERY impressive. Good spot from which to reflect on the price of progress and offer some appreciation to the people whose families had been here for generations that had to relocate. Well worth the trip, and the guys in the visitors center are entertaining and informative.

Pull over.. get out or take a walk. The enormity of this dam is very interesting. It's the second largest in the world! Worth the stop

The Dam is just huge. Almost a mile long. Very impressive.
On the other hand, it is about the only interesting thing in the area (large area that is...).
The nightly laser show lasts about half an hour and is well worth a visit, explaining the history of the dam and ist surroundings.

The viewpoint from this park is very impressive. You can see the Grand Coulee Dam, of course, but also over into the Colville Reservation and up the Columbia River.
