I love the way this museum is arranged, with the cabins of six of the early settlers moved to this location and linked together. I knew the museum contained exhibits on the early settlers, but it also contained so much more, with little exhibits on prehistoric bison, interactions of settlers with the Samish tribes, and operations of the first telephone exchange on the island, which also doubled as a fire alert system. It's absolutely crammed with artefacts, and the more you look, the more you find. Well worth an hour of your time.

This museum has lots of information of the early settlers and life on Orcas island. They have moved several small original settlers' cabins to the site and have plenty of artifacts. It was larger than I thought it would be. I spent about 45 minutes browsing the exhibits. I really enjoyed the museum and would bring more family to see it. Admission was free but you could give a suggested donation.

My husband and I wandered in to the museum while we were exploring the little town of Eastsound. The entry fee is a donation of your choosing. The exhibits offered a good review of the island's history with lots of interesting little artifacts to peruse. The story of the large family (nine children in a one-room cabin) who were early settlers on Orcas was quite compelling. Visitors with children would have enjoyed the "photobooth" area where you can take pictures with authentic early settler clothing. All in all a good stop on a quiet island.

Even though this is a relatively small museum, it is extremely packed full of information about the history, people, and living conditions on orchis Island in the 1800s later. There are six log cabins join together to create the larger structure. Admission is free with a suggested donation, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There is lots to read, and the items are up close and personal. It doesn’t take long to Peru’s, but you could spend longer if you got engrossed with all of the information. We were surprisingly.intrigued. There are some fun things for the kids as well, including a dress up area. Seems like a hidden gem.

Very well organized. Small log cabins connected together allowing us to go back in time. A must see while on Orcas.

We really loved this museum, six small log buildings each depicting a time in Orcas Island history. Greeted at the door by well informed and friendly people. Our grandchildren loved the area where they could try on clothes, shoes and bonnets of the day. What a treasure!
