The Rose Theater is a lovely place, with amazing people working! The popcorn is popped fresh everyday with real butter, the theater is so clean and cozy! It was an amazing experience.

Great experience in a environment that felt very nostalgic. Decor and ambiance felt we were in a time long ago.

The seating in this theater is a collection of used, comfortable soft furniture. There are individual seats, love seats and sofas. Before the room is darkened, there is a lovely view of the water surrounding Port Townsend. Food service was varied and quite good. I like the choices of hot and cold foods, not just the typical candy and sodas. Enjoy a glass of wine with your food while watching the film.

I had such a great experience at this theater. I love how they introduce the movie beforehand. Comfy seating and good drink/food selection. Friendly staff and really cool, old building. Can't wait to go back to see a movie in The Starlight Room.

Sure the screen is a little smaller and may not have all the bells and whistles of the Mall theatres but the charm oozes out of every corner of this retro jewel! Plus when have you ever had the manager bounce up on stage and play trivia with you before a show...probably never...except here.
So, settle into your velety seat with a freshly poured beer. wine or hard cider and bask in a time when movie theatres were more than just a vechicle to stream your movie; they were part of the entertainment experiance.

Beautiful theater with and old fashion vibe. It’s very clean and have plenty of interesting snack options.

We love this old fashioned theatre......the sound system is great!
They offer interesting movies, live broadcasts from the Metrpolitan Opera house in New York, ballets, etc,

At the recommendation of our sailing instructor we saw Maiden. It was outstanding and later in the week it was in port for us to see.

This funky little theater is a gem! They have current movies, great popcorn that you can put toppings on.

Can someone tell me about the Port Townsend Film Festival? I'm trying to find a list of the films for this years festival. Are there FREE movies at night in the park? Can you still get into restaurants? HELP!

Hi Kelly,
You can find out information about the film festival on their website (TripAdvisor doesn't allow these responses to include links so just Google "Port Townsend Film Festival"), or by calling the office at (360) 379-1333. The staff is very helpful and would be happy to answer all your questions. The program that lists all films hasn't been released yet, but there are always free movies in the evenings on Taylor Street the Fri, Sat and Sun of the festival. You can also purchase single tickets to movies that aren't already reserved by festival passholders. And yes, there are plenty of restaurants downtown, so it's not a problem to find food.
