We always stop to get food for our Airbnb when visiting the area. Lots of organic and vegetarian options. The pizza is delicious. Plus they have small portions of fresh produce and they’ll chop, cut, slice almost anything. It’s especially helpful when staying at an Airbnb. I also liked their prepared food options, and the wine selections. The convenience is what brings me back.
Yes, prices are higher than a normal grocery store but Central Market doesn’t pretend to be anything other than a high end green grocer. On our last visit a couple weeks ago, I was disappointed that they didn’t have sushi. I was really hoping to get some. Overall, it’s still my go-to place to pick up food when visiting.

Came for a wedding. Cute shops and a few great restaurants. Enough for a weekend. Wanted to rent kayaks but staff was not around. Scenic.

We visit our son and his family for 2 weeks every year, and Central Market is our first stop! We load up on cheeses and meats from the deli (try the cheese curds) and can't wait 'til we get to the bakery....lots of goodies. A stroll around the Market always leaves us "oohing" and "aahing". Our supermarket in Florida is just a grocery store after visiting Central Market (sorry, Publix). Be sure to try their delicious soups and some of the local sourdough bread,

Among the locals, this market is the only one I know of that they go out of their way to take their out-of-town guests to visit. It's got the areas most varied selections of wines, teas, olives, bulk bins (specializing in sweets, legumes, nuts, grains, and spices), and organic/locally-grown produce. It's not the cheapest place you can shop, but it's going to have pretty much everything you can need in stock.

The French Dip special (Mondays) is the must have deli option. Excellent and plentiful prime rib, good fries. Bulk spices and sundries. Live seafood tanks.

On our many trips from Alaska to visit friends on the peninsula, we regularly stop to shop at Central Market. Great fresh produce, bakery, and bulk specialty items. Friendly staff.
