The 2 hour drive was well worth the trip to experience Kohler spa at their signature location im Kohler, Wisconsin. The facilities were clean, well-maintained and provided ample space for spa activities and relaxation.
The Hydrotherapy treatment is my absolute favorite service offered at Kohler. It begins with an espresso full body scrub, followed by a vichy shower, applied with a large wand that sprays warm water all over your body. Next, is a warm bath, in a tub equipped with a sound system and jets. You’re provided a pitcher of water and icy towels to cool off if necessary. The next step is a mini facial, followed by a mini neck and shoulders massage, finishing with a rub down of aromatherapy moisturizer. This 80 minute treatment is phenomenal!
To make your experience even more special, Infused waters, herbal teas and coffee are stationed around the spa for your convenience.
I don’t have photos to post which I feel would be inappropriate given the privacy expected when visiting a spa; however, the photos on their website accurately reflect the look/feel of the property.
The spa is quite expensive and overnight accommodations are required to book some services on weekends. I’ve stayed in the Carriage House which I would highly recommend since the spa is located in that building. You can roam around in your robe all day, enjoying the hot tubs, steam rooms, sauna, pool and lounge chairs near the pool waterfall. I have also booked a weekday appointment and opted to stay overnight in a moderate hotel in nearby Sheboygan, which was also a good option.
Kohler Spa also has an on-site café with healthy lunch options and smoothies to enjoy before, in-between or after your treatments.
I’m looking forward to my next visit!

Lindsey at the spa was fantastic!! She provided flawless service with wonderful conversation. I can tell she really loves what she does. She personalized my experience and made me feel amazing!

We booked a mani/pedi and massage during our stay at The American Club. The nail technician, Jessica, was AWESOME! She took great care of us.

Corrine that did my massage was very good. All of the staff were outstanding. It is pricy though. I was sad that they didn’t give out bottled waters unless I asked for them now. They also don’t have the little cranberry granola bars that I loved. It is still a great experience and the massage was wonderful.

This is a beautiful, quiet, and relaxing spa. The cleanliness is at an immaculate level. My favorite part of the visit was floating in the beautiful indoor pool, gazing up at the blue cloud painted ceiling. The sounds from the waterfall (and one can sit under it also) were soothing and guests were very respectful.
Services were all great, albeit the reiki treatment and a few "off" comments by the therapists, but the manager (unsolicited) made that right financially after I mentioned this in my guest survey. Wow - unexpected and impressive.
I will definitely be back and this time with my husband (this was a girls' trip).
My only hold back from an "excellent" review is that there are strict, and almost unrealistic, requirements of treatment minimums to use the spa on certain days - even when one is a hotel guest. I have been to many high end spas/hotels and this is not typical.

We came to Kohler for my husbands golf trip. While he played golf I decided I was going to the spa! We stayed at the Inn on Woodlake so we stayed onsite. Going to the spa was definitely better than watching my husband play golf! The customer service is outstanding. It is an incredible facility and the amenities are 5 star. All of the people are ready to help, direct and serve you. I felt like a Queen for a day. I got 3 services. The hydrotherapy waterfall massage, a Thai massage, and a Uniquely Yours Contour Wrap. The pool, hot tub and locker room are all incredible. I ended with the 80 minute Contour Wrap and that was my favorite one. The reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 overall is I have had better massages at Massage Envy and at my own chiropractor’s office. I was very excited to try the waterfall massage and it is definitely something to experience but I was disappointed especially for the price I paid. You are basically getting a shower laying down so it uncomfortably sprayed me somewhat in the face while getting a massage that is meh. Nothing to write home about. The Thai massage was not a real Thai massage. You get stretched a little and massaged a little for 50 minutes and I don’t think I got a full 50 minutes because I sat in the waiting room past my start time. However, I had a glass of wine while vegging at the pool before the Thai massage and I was thoroughly relaxed after the massage so it was still good. Just not awesome. The Contour Wrap was great with Brooke! My most favorite thing! I’ve never had a wrap before so I had nothing to compare it to so I was impressed with this. I spent over $700 on these 3 services. Way too much for what you get, however, I do recommend coming to this place and splurging a little, just not as much as I did, and getting at least a regular massage and the contour wrap and just relax by the pool. We are staying at the resort and we cannot enjoy just the pool and hot tub at the spa for the rest of our stay because their policy is you cannot use it on the weekends unless you’ve booked a service on that particular day because it gets too busy. You’d think since I spent over $700 at the spa on a Friday, I could also enjoy the pool and hot tub the rest of the weekend. Another reason for the 4 stars instead of 5. Definitely worth a visit! Just be choosy on your services!

I have absolutely no issue with the quality of the massage service I received. The therapist was very attentive and considerate and I really enjoyed my experience at the time.
My issue is with the Spa's policies and fees which can result in a BIG surprise when you receive the final bill. Granted it is my responsibility to make an informed purchase (buyer beware) but the information you really need to know is either contradictory or feels deliberately buried at the very bottom of a long list of policies. And that one at the bottom is a biggie - an 20% gratuity added automatically to your bill. And they do not remind you of that when checking out and you ask about leaving a tip. I get that business is business but is a little communication too much to ask?? Particularly when you're paying $250 for a massage, before the auto-gratuity.
Needless to say my therapist got a REALLY GOOD TIP...
Also, be aware that if you've booked a service on a Friday and are not staying in the Carriage House, you may or may not be charged a $50 "weekend" usage fee. I say "may" because their policy has "weekend" defined in three different places - two of which state the fee only applies on Saturday and Sunday but the first one you come across says Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Guess which definition showed up on my bill?
[Full disclosure: the fee is waived altogether if your room is not at the Carriage House and you've booked at least two services.]
Finally, trying to speak to an actual person who could help me understand the charges on my bill felt a little like trying to get Packers season tickets without Grandpa leaving them to you in the will.
There is no published number for the Spa itself. I twice called the general 800 number, and was twice transferred to voicemail ("they must be busy with customers"). Both of these calls went unanswered so I left two messages that went completely unreturned for several days. My third call was marginally more successful. The person answering was actually able to talk to someone in the Spa (!) but the information they provided to me after that didn't really feel completely transparent. When I asked to have a copy of the folio specifically for the Spa charges, they it wasn't accessible but they could transfer me to the Spa to request one. And no, I did not leave yet another message. Leaving open the possibility of being ignored a third time just isn't good self-care.
The excellent service and attention paid to guests throughout all parts of the property when you're there is really very impressive. But check your bill before you leave - when standing right there in front of them. It's a good thing I don't like golf because the unfortunate aftertaste left by my experience obtaining customer service once I returned home does not leave me wanting to go back again.

This is one of the best spas with hydrotherapy areas in America that I have been to. There is a medium size pool with a lovely waterfall with adjacent relaxation lounges; the women's locker room had a small hot tub, steamroom, sauna and cool plunge pool; and the fourth floor has a large hot tub and an amazing wide gas fireplace with a built in bench. The spa treatments were very good and staff were professional and attentive. Prices were high, as one might expect. There is a spa cafe where you can have lunch, which was convenient. It was a wonderful experience!

I've only had about half a dozen massages and this one was very good thanks to Vanessa. All staff interactions were exactly what you'd expect at a top notch facility. I've been in a lot of locker rooms, and this one (womens) is very small, with double-Decker lockers and not enough bench room, so I was bumping elbows with naked strangers. Despite all visitors signing a behavior agreement, I did not see staff addressing inappropriate behaviors (cell phone use in locker room, man talking on his phone in a room adjacent to the pool). If you suffer from claustrophobia you might be most comfortable in the rooftop venue which additionally has a more contemporary feel to it than the main area

Outstanding spa in Wisconsin. The service is second to none. The detail to attention is outstanding which is why this is our third time to visit the spa in twelve months. We love staying in the Carriage house where we can wear our robes the entire time. The Bold Cycle and Yoga on the lake were outstanding as well. We can't wait to return!
